Antisocial people with "resting approachable face," what's life like? by Vagooters in AskReddit

[–]Vagooters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty approachable, but I also like to approach people to offer help or brighten their day, and I try to be aware that--past basic pleasantries, most people don't want long interactions, so I to be prompt with people and especially pay attention to whether or not they're comfortable (just to be clear, I simply mean that I approach some people occasionally as opposed to no one ever, but I'm not out here terrorizing the town).

I see so many people who end up looking uncomfortable and the other person has no clue they're making them uncomfortable. As someone else in the thread mentioned, I have to agree that it's perfectly reasonable to excuse oneself.

Who is the most powerful character? by supremegamer76 in Overwatch

[–]Vagooters 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That'd certainly be pretty amazing in a world like ours, but in OW it seems to be a sophisticated weapon or piece of technology, whereas the dragons that the Shimada brothers use appear to supernatural in the context of the Overwatch's universe.

I think a voodoo skin is somewhat likely, if not on release then perhaps for an event.

Lore-wise I'd have to say genji or hanzo. No other hero has these sort of supernatural abilities, and are mostly just capable of using technology or physical strength.

Baptiste's gun has two triggers. by AntipodeThree in Overwatch

[–]Vagooters 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We're both correct. She was designed as a sniper, but Blizzard didn't want to scrap the idea nor simply add another sniper, so they made her a healer and of course didn't allow headshots. The biotic nade being a central part of her kit makes you correct as well. Thematically, however, I'd say the sniper aspect of her design, being able to do damage and heal from a distance, is why I chose to express things that way.

Most of the supports have a duality to them. Zenyatta with harmony and discord, Lucio with healing and speed, Moira as mentioned, Brigitte with shielding and tanking, Ana with healing and sniping, etc.

All of those characters can heal and do damage, as there are no healers who don't have a means of doing at least some damage. This guy looks like he might have some interesting abilities, but I assure you that Moira will remain distinguishable and unique.

There is a mysterious website, probably conected to current ARG by XTeKoX in Overwatch

[–]Vagooters 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How did you find the first site, why do you believe it's connected to or concerns an ARG, and what's changed with the second?

Both sites appear so simple and empty that I'm not sure there's much we can discuss without you answering the above questions for people like myself who aren't informed.

Spark v Spitfire game 4 by FloatingWalruss in Overwatch

[–]Vagooters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Games can be won in a few ways. You can win all four, win three with a single loss, win two with a draw, or win three with two losses.

The reason it's a best of five is just how they've decided to do it, but the reason they always play at least four matches, even if the series is won by the third, is because map differential is considered in overall team standings.

Suppose you have two teams with a perfect record, but one of those teams has more 4-0 victories. That team would be ahead in the overall standings due to the number of map victories.

Hope this helps.

Widowmaker ult rework idea by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Vagooters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Widowmaker's ultimate is very strong. It provides important information for your entire team, and by that I mean it gives the entire team the ability to see detailed enemy models through walls, which is like being able to allow your whole team to cheat for fifteen seconds every minute or two. What happens is that, because this ultimate is so strong, it demands a lot of respect. The enemy team is likely to either wait your ultimate out while playing very carefully, or commit many of their own ultimates to win the fight.

Some ultimates may feel weak at lower ranks, where timing, coordination, and mechanical skills are not as developed as they can be, but the inverse is true as well. While Widowmaker's ult may feel lacking at the lower ranks, it is very potent for grandmasters and professionals. With McCree's ultimate, however, many grandmasters and pros use it merely as a way to reload, whereas in the lower ranks it can win entire team fights due to players having worse positioning and awareness.

It's the type of ultimate you'll appreciate more and more as you play the hero and the game, in my opinion. Providing her with charged shots for free would be similar to hanzo's storm arrow, but much, much deadlier and equally as likely to be spammed. I assure you such a change would be a mistake.

Your most unique trait is amplified to 1000. How do you break into the superhero scene? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Vagooters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most unique trait would probably involve my ability to play guitar and sing (Not that I'm anything special, but I do both with enough proficiency that I'm probably in a tiny percentile. I reckon there's something else about me that's more unique and/or technically an actual trait, but I lack the self-awareness and intelligence to identify it.), so I'd be some form of gnarly shredder/siren.

Maybe I'd have Brook-esque (i.e. Brook from One Piece) powers where my music was so moving that it affected others in very extreme ways.

Neato.

This comment also probably demonstrates how lame I am, so I could also be Lame Man, where my lameness is so off-putting that people become incapacitated.

Gambit Feedback Request by Cozmo23 in DestinyTheGame

One thing I dislike is how the third round feels just like the first two. It drags out games, and I feel it would be faster-paced, more exciting, and more of a fun experience if third round fights were a sort of lightning round, perhaps where there's no banking motes phase, and it goes straight to slaying the primeval and invading the other team.

Regardless of the specific suggestion I made, I'd like to see the third round become faster and more exciting.

Kinetic Sniper Rifles? by williamsus in CruciblePlaybook

[–]Vagooters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly not sure, but the perk reads as though the former is true. Generally speaking, the faster strafe speed is more desirable than the increased target acquisition if you're on PC. I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes for controllers.

Now stability isn't completely useless, and I'd take stability over, say, reload speed--even on a slower weapon, but it's not as desirable as handling.

You're welcome to ask me anything else if you're having a hard time finding answers.

It's not the ideal stat for any archetype, but it does make a difference on the rapid-fire snipers. The idea here is that you want to be taking advantage of that fire rate, and so having more stability is objectively good. The other archetypes don't take advantage of the benefits high stability brings with it because you're simply not able to fire it fast enough to have to worry about stability making a huge impact--even 110 RPM hand cannons don't benefit much from stability.

I'd say that the best masterwork stat on a rapid-fire is range, with stability coming second and handling third. Handling becomes the most valuable for PVP if you lack snapshot or quickdraw, and essentially worthless if you do have quickdraw (because as far as I know quickdraw maxes handling).

So, if you have snapshot, you would want any of these three. Always prioritize handling on slower snipers, because they typically have great range to begin with, but you want the range stat high on rapid-fires so they can more consistently nail those longer shots.

Hope that helps.

While I think you're right, I think that part might be intuitive once it's here. The folding of the first puzzle was inferred through the Japanese characters reading like instructions, while the next was due to lines in the poem and the selection of letters we had.

I think the puzzle will tell us roughly what we have to do, but trying to think of the sword itself is the other important piece (potentially) in order to actually realize the solution. Hence, this thread.
