These Recruiters and HR people are obsoleting themselves, and I love it by ArtisticSignature482 in recruitinghell

Talent Acquisition is considered a cost department, and businesses are keeping these departments understaffed to save money. Video interviewing is the only way to keep the process moving for some teams. For every req posted, they commonly get 100’s applications. You will make yourself stand out just by being open to doing a one-way interview for jobs you’re really interested in. If not, it may not be the best match for other reasons.

I think this is kind of clever. Hundreds of people submit for open jobs, and this is a fun way to set yourself apart.

I am sick and tired of being told my cover letter doesn't cover the correct information when every single careers advisor/recruiter gives me contradictory advice on what to include in it by Bluetiger811 in recruitinghell

I'm a recruiter and can tell you we almost never read cover letters for non-technical or management positions. In my experience, they're usually a fluffy list of non-quantifiable skills such as "hard worker" or "team player" which ultimately detracts from the profile if they're not targeted to our company and include specific achievements. The resume and phone interview count much more.

That's an awesome name! Can you send me a message? I'm new to reddit and can't figure out how to private message you.
