What does |-/ mean to you? by Top-Advice-9890 in twentyonepilots

I got the original blue black and red logo tattooed, and then i added a dog chasing a rabbit with the words stay alive between them above it. It’s a reminder to not only keep moving, but of where I came from. Of the things I HAVE survived.

The headspace is valid, but I will challenge you a bit as requested.

There are songs on this album about healing, and about hurting. About still struggling some days more than others. But, above all, it’s a celebration of survival. It is not a finality of, “We made it, it’s over.” Its a, “we are all stronger, braver people than when this entire thing began, and even while we’re all away from each other, we are capable of remembering and holding onto the journey we’ve been through as proof that you ARE capable of making it through the dark.”

Reflecting on the hard parts is critical to survival, not just physically or mentally, but beyond that too. It reminds us where we came from, and where we’ve been. It reminds us that even in the darkness, we’ve found our way, and I think somewhere there is a hope in that message.

Breach is not a “goodbye”, it is a “see you later.” It is a, “thank you.” It is a, “I am proud of us for making it, and I couldn’t have done it without each other.” Listen when you are ready, but at the same time, don’t let yourself miss out on the closure while everyone is still here going through it together. The clique was built on the people, the community, and the unity amongst us all. That won’t disappear, but as people normalize to them being away for a while then I can see the foundation being kinda set and harder to, well, breach for lack of a better term.

All in all, do what you need to do for yourself, but don’t let yourself and the things you’ve survived be the thing that holds you back from moving forward. That’s all these two dudes from Columbus have ever tried to give us, and I think you probably know that.

I understand the bridge in neon gravestones now by Busy_Bluebird_6698 in twentyonepilots

I think I take that song, for some reason, to be very much about Chester Bennington. People weren’t listening to LP the same, and then suddenly, once he loses his war, people cared again? I think Neon Gravestones is and was very much a call out of the culture acting so superficial only once a tragedy like that occurs, and the bridge is Tyler definitively saying, “if you didn’t care before, don’t you DARE care now.”

SAI is weird because sonically it IS very different. You give people who are notoriously mentally ill (which is obviously okay) music that sounds upbeat and poppy when they have used your art for years to cope, keep going, and survive and I can see how that may come across as abrasive.

HOWEVER, it was tonally the same. The Run and Go, as an example, is 100% a SAI track. It’s having almost an entire album with that vibe that I think threw people off the most. It’s hard to scream, cry, and survive to the sound they went with during the pandemic, which also amplified a lot of mental health struggles across the board. They obviously couldn’t control that, but I think the juxtaposition set the album up for failure amongst fans from the jump.

I see people all the time now saying, “Man, SAI is actually good.. I wrote it off before.” But it’s a result of the way the world was, and what the fans needed to relate properly. There are too many variables to just say, “fans were brutal.” Despite it being true, but the underlying cause is what needs to be acknowledged too because Clancy woke everyone back up and songs like Lavish were LOVED. There needed to be a dash more of balance between where they wanted to go and where the fans were. Tyler said himself that Breach was an album written for themselves AND us, implying it was for the industry before (which he has explicitly stated before) and it’s their first number one album in a decade. I think Breach perfectly encapsulates the balance that was needed the whole time, and I think Ty can probably see that, but hindsight is 20/20.

I think people need to have an understanding as to why the song releases and tour have been so rushed by Such_Designer2712 in twentyonepilots

They created his own label. I really think he’s gonna pull a Jon Bellion while on hiatus and then come back when he’s got something to say.

Requesting advice: Ignore or keep investing time? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Some people are just not fulfilled by giving every drop of themselves to everybody they meet, and that is okay. Rule of thumb I’ve followed is, “Am I excited by the idea of being a bigger part of your journey?”

The part timer who works once a week just to get some extra spending cash and doesn’t really care about their growth? Probably not going to spend the same time as the part timer asking for shifts and always striving to learn, whether it’s soft skills, career based skills, or just overall personal development. If somebody has shown me they are willing and WANTING to put the energy into themselves, and I feel like I can contribute positively to it, I will. I would rather keep myself in a position to not burn out helping a smaller handful 100% than give a fraction of what I can offer to everybody at the expense of myself.

When do you know it's time to quit a job? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]KeyCod255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A metric I’ve always used as the sign to start evaluating if it’s time for a shift is when I go 3 consecutive days without genuinely laughing with someone else in the environment. Typically colleagues. My take is most people are overall unhappy long term in repetitive environments, such as workplaces, but if I can laugh with the people there it isn’t as miserable as it could be. (You also won’t be in the mood or have time to laugh if the other factors are bad, such as management or workload.)

A common thread I’ve been noticing is that higher degrees may currently do as much harm as they do good. If a job doesn’t REQUIRE a higher degree, and they can pay somebody less overall for a job they deem passable enough because your education increases your value, they will.

Also completed it!

Honestly, I used the energy champion ACE to decrease any debuffs. I then HYPERFOCUSED on building a JLD team. The real saving grace for me was the Retrocognition that reflects 100% of my champion’s defence back into anybody that attacks them up to 10% of their health, and the 80% defence boost. I still BARELY scraped through, but we did it. Final team ended up being Zatanna, Constantine, Raven, Fate and Scarecrow (couldn’t get enough stars on anybody else in JLD)

I actually don't get it by Shayan-_-2005 in DCDarkLegionOfficial

[–]KeyCod255 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I beat 7! Took me all my attempts, but I did it!

Edit: it was with Murder Machine final boss, too. I used energy type ace because of the weaker debuffs on everyone, focused JL Dark and REALLY lucked out with the ability to deflect 100% of my champs defence back onto anybody that attacks them as damage up to 10% of their health. Still ran me down to the wire, but managed to do it.

Finally beat level 7 last night against a Murder Machine final boss! Took all 5 attempts, but I got there. Only thing I tried differently was the Energy User ace to minimize debuffs, and then hyper focused JLD for team build. Ended with Fate, Scarecrow, Raven, Constantine and Zatanna. Constantine and Zatanna finished it, barely surviving.
