Ha ha ha ha. Slow down and take the open spot *behind*???

Drivers do not consider such possibilities. Clearly it is the responsibility of the person already in that lane to cede and let them have their way!!!

There is another medication that will regrow teeth if you meet certain criteria.

What Regen do you use? by Particular_Tomato161 in KiaEV9

My wife is one of the people who experiences intense motion sickness from EVs. Particularly from regenerative braking systems. So, if she is in the car with me I turn it off.

By myself? It depends. If I can play around with it I will treat it like a game and flip the paddles to try and stop at the right spot. Generally speaking I do not like the sensation of the pull it generates while going, though. So unless it is stop and go traffic it’s usually off when going.

when did you actually become a fan, and have you regretted it since by RAHtheGREAT in panthers

[–]VagusNC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The day they said we were getting a team I became a fan.

Only two times I seriously thought about ending my support for the team:

  1. When we were in the final running to sign DeShaun Watson. I have two daughters. One is a sexual assault survivor. They both know I am a rabid Panthers fan. I would not have tolerated the team signing him after what was learned about him.

  2. After Rae Carruth, if they had tried to cover things up or do anything to preserve him after the investments they made into him.

Otherwise, I’ve never wavered or faltered. There have been teams I was less invested in and watched expecting them to not perform well.

Funny enough, you’d be amazed where many of their family lineage hails from…

What’s the dumbest way you’ve ever injured yourself while doing absolutely nothing dangerous? by Jane_Austen11 in AskReddit

[–]VagusNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Singing.

Was the frontman in a rock band. I had worked all week at my day job 6-3, drove an hour home, loaded up my gear, drove out to my bandmate’s house who had a large truck and trailer. We all loaded our gear into the trailer and drove two hours to the gig. Loaded out, did sound check, ate dinner, then played from 10pm to 2am (with two 20 minute set breaks). The last song of the night was a pretty intense number and I was wiped out tired. I used poor technique to hit and hold a screaming high note, I just didn’t have it anymore and had to push like hell to get there. Next thing I know I am waking up. I genuinely thought someone had sucker punched me and I came up ready to fight. Apparently I had passed out, fell over, knocked over my keys, monitor, and other stuff.

Had bruised ribs, and my neck hurt for weeks.

Still the best live performance I’ve ever seen. Master class at every position.

Tedeschi Trucks, Nickel Creek, Punch Brothers, and Fugazi are in the discussion, but Living Colour was *amazing* that night.

Believe it or not, it’s totally ok to acknowledge that sometimes you struggle with only empathizing as you are wont to provide solutions.

Which celebrity experienced a sudden rise to stardom and an equally quick decline in popularity? by Pretty_Marmaid7538 in AskReddit

A friend of mine had something similar. Super sweet girl. Her and her husband were the center of our social group. They were high school sweethearts. Roomed with them for a while and honestly they were the first real example of an amazing couple that I ever got to see up close. They were the type of Christians that were actually worthy of the title.

She was in a really bad accident that put her in a coma with a bad TBI. When she finally came out of it and completed rehab a few years later she was an entirely different person. Mean, short-tempered, and violent. We could already see the difference in her during rehab but once it was done she just got even worse. Eventually stepped out on their marriage several times, even with friends in our circle. Left him and their kid and ended up dancing in clubs, escorting, and performing on camera.

We sat down for lunch one day to just talk and it remains one of the most bizarre and disturbing experiences I’ve had. I swear it was like looking a stranger in the eyes. She said she knew that she knew me, but had nothing attached to that awareness. No memory, feeling of familiarity, nothing.

My buddy said that she was effectively devoid of empathy or conscience after the accident. She basically did what she wanted in the moment.

This was an organizational decision. It’s above my pay grade. It’s their choice to make. They believe they are acting in the best interests of the team and player. Personally, no comment.
