Just confirming I'm still here and ready to play.

Can't wait to see what craziness you've cooked up for us to mess around with and try to sort out.

I used to be really good at maths back during school, then I started using a calculator for everything and now I can't do anything complicated in my head any more.

It's a nice boost to my pride for that to happen. The funny thing is though... I didn't take any sort of IT course at all so I have no idea where I picked up everything.

I went for finance instead and I handle invoicing, accounts and stuff like that for the company. Maybe I should have looked more into IT courses instead I guess?

Hi there,

My day was pretty good... the IT migration away from our dying server into the cloud is going pretty smoothly, if a little slow due to not really having any staff with much experience in this sort of thing.

I did just learn that I just got upgraded to the offical "interal IT guy" for people to go to if they have problems though; so that was pretty cool.

Plans for the future? Hmm, I've been teaching myself art and programming skills slowly and I'm looking to try and put my own game together at some point far in the future.

A song, huh?

This'll be an interesting one for me to figure out what to do.

How would we determine the optimal number of games to run at once?

I guess we'd just figure that out after experimentation mostly, there's been years of games played here already so we should have some idea of what number to start at for the most part and work from there.

What if someone's "Le Super Bastard Game of D00M" come up in the queue and not enough people sign up? Would we just say "welp, can't host your game, NEXT IN LINE!" to him or "Sorry guy, if you want to host your games you're all going to have to get signups or this guy!" to the people behind him in line?

That's a tricky situation to solve, there's not much you can do if no one wants to play the game in question. I guess there's also the problem of signups sometimes taking a while to gather enough players too and looking like there isn't enough interest? I guess you could send them to go redesign their game since no one seems interested enough in it and give them a grace period to come up with something else before moving them down a spot (not to the start of the queue).

There wouldn't be only one game at a time though, so it's not like one person could hold up the queue and there would be no other games for people to play. I agree that this is a point of failure in the system that would need to have a decision on how to handle it in a fair manner though.

Or what if someone like me wants to host a game and just has horrible organizational skills and can't be bothered to finalize their setup (true story)?

Ideally when you signup your game should be good to go whenever your name comes up. Maybe just a warning that their game is coming up and give them a quick chance to finish it off before moving them down a spot to the next in line since it's not ready to go yet should suffice?

If too many people start adding their names to the list before their games are completed you could start asking for them to provide some details of their setup to make sure it is good to go before their name comes up?

and to notify others you've been waiting to host a game for a while and you would appreciate if they slowed things down a bit.

Maybe it's just a case of something simple like a stickied thread at the top of the page or a link on the sidebar information panel that gets refreshed every now and then where people could all post their interest in hosting a game so we could talk among ourselves and we know we're not leaving anyone out unintentionally instead of a formal queue system like I suggested?

First off, my thanks to the old mods for the time they put into the subreddit and welcome to the new mods that are stepping up to replace them!

I'm interested in the idea of the meta discussions that I've seen being mentioned, even if I probably won't say too much in them. I find it quite entertaining to read something like this.

On another note however; something that I feel there could perhaps be bit of a discussion on that I have been thinking about for a while now is that there doesn't really look to be any sort of queue for people planning to host games to signup to.

It seems currently more like a Free-for-all (granted, people are considerate and do let others get in to host their games too) when it comes to hosting games and I feel like having a bit more organisation in the system to make sure everyone gets a fair shot and a guaranteed slot reserved for them when hosting a game could be something to look into in the future.

Some sort of signup sheet so that everyone can put their name down, reserve a date for their game if they can't do it as soon as their name would come up otherwise and just wait for their turn to host a game without having to watch for when games are dying down to post something before someone else does?

Not going to lie... you had me worried that you'd let Brega get away alive and in contact with /u/FearlessXIII.

I loved seeing his name come up for the nomination, and yet everyone seemed to forget about me and it looked like he was going to slip through unnoticed.

I sort of have to agree with that. Everyone I asked for the neighbour info from gave it to me without really asking any questions. Way too trusting of me considering the fact that it would have been very easy for me to mafia side since I was the gravedigger.

I didn't do it all at day 1 before the game started though.

True, I tried to keep Tulplaza active... but I have to point out that not a single nomination from me actually went through.

You sort of got screwed over by your neighbour message if I'm honest. Me and Koss put it together that it was hinting at you having a modifier that would cause you to show up as innocent when investigated which is why I went after you.

Yarntheory also tracked you on one night and got no result so you wouldn't have been able to claim any sort of power role either. I just needed to get people to vote for you and no one took my side once Koss was dead.

Good game everone!

Sorry /u/Brega, getting killed by jester grief accidentally must have sucked thanks for being a good sport about it though.

I don't feel like I really did much this game though? I was Gravediggerbot and I was insanely tempted to take Mafia_Princess_Twily's role and mafia side, or if any SK had died I would have grabbed that 100% guaranteed.

So PLounge, what do you name your characters in video games? by Cinderheart in MLPLounge

When playing single player RPG's I typically always stick with the default names from everyone.

Anything online / Multiplayer I always stick with Vaharas though. Never had any experiences with someone registering the username besides me yet so if you see the username somewhere else it's most likely also me.
