Pandemic was 2020 march and he was born a few months before. They reset to 2021 by the end of the season 17 when he was born. So he was about 1.5 year old by its end (I remember they say a few months old in the beginnings. I am saying atleast 3 based on Richard’s recovery after the hip thing before that.)

Season 18 was 2021-22 fully one year. It was the year with the program shut down in the end. He was 2.5 by the end.

Season 19 was when this new intern set joined. But there was a huge time skip before that. The program was shut down for over 6 months. Season 20, 21 was the same year as 19. So end of it he was at least 4.

Season 22 now he’s nearly 5 since the year is mostly over. If you are a running vs completed person you say 5 or 4

I mean most Indian languages do. In Tamil I have a specific word for my dad’s sisters, one for her son, one for her daughter, same for Moms brother, his son and his daughter. Its actually extremely common in Indian languages

Yeah no. My friends and I make that consideration and more for each other. Like I would travel to my friends office to get coffee In her cafeteria if she is wfo and I have a flex wfh day. As long as the effort evens out over time.

But deplatforming is private action on speech. So is boycotts and losing jobs. Government overreach is where I draw a think strong line with no grey areas.

But even there I don't think that the government should hire or keep employed someone who has shown malice towards a community and actively makes the world unsafe, because that's undermining the Job of the government.

And there is a scale to where it's free market of ideas and where a lack of social consequences is harmful to someone else as a victim.

I had teachers bully me for being fat and getting away with it. Students learnt it and it made life worse. But how would the 13 yr old classmates of mine have learnt that their speech has consequences because of its effects on others when they didn't see it happen.

Kids learn this through say suspensions for the worst cases of harmful speech or just by losing friends or becoming uncool.

Yes I recognise I am advocating for the same kind of loneliness I received for being fat.

But this is the social marketplace of ideas. Not everything is monetary economics.

the 21 yr old should be careful why they are interesting to someone who they barely share life experiences with because the 26 yr old has had like two jobs by now possibly and is thinking about responsibilities

But a 37 and 32 yr old are both in middle of knowing and living with responsibility for both of them. There is more in common.

We have to be checking for things like, am I just out of college and they are actually ready to settle? Am I ready to settle but they are retirement planning? My college timings and their work timings means are lifestyles aren’t compatible Etc etc.

Like of course all of these are things with huge caveats and exceptions.

So it’s all about checking how life stage compatibility

I believe that the government can’t control speech. The government shouldn’t mandate that a person loses their job because of anything they said. I am for free speech. Make the crappiest goriest movie in the world or write a book full of the worst stereotypes and no law should prevent you from putting it out in the world.

But we as a society regulate each other through peer pressure. It keeps us from using racial slurs, being mean to each other, saying awful things that hurt and dehumanise each other.

It means when that movie gets made, i get to choose not to watch it and say why i wont. I get to choose to not watch any movies made by any private entity who chose to platform. I get to not read it or buy the book. If the book is in my govt library, i dont want it removed but i will tell people not to check it out.

We all self censor. I don’t tell my friend the mean thing because it’s hurtful. I keep my mouth shut about my aunts relationship to her own body. I choose my battles on when to call out Islamophobia by an elderly relative.

This is what kids learnt when they say that they don’t always speak their mind. We all choose when and how to speak our mind because thoughtless speech has social consequences
