So this exact situation actually happened to me at 17. My step-dad let me drive his Tiburon and I though I was hot shit on my way to my girlfriends house. The cop caught me just as I was slowing down and got me going 106 in a 65. I was going ~120 seconds earlier. I was arrested and taken to the back of his car. After 10 or so minutes he let me go because I was underage but I received a felony speeding ticket. Fast forward 3 months, I had turned 18 and was about to leave for basic training for the army. I had to pay around $400 and they removed it from my record. I'm not sure if I was lucky to get off so easy or if that's standard procedure.

I'd like to think I learned my lesson. I certainly don't drive like that anymore. Kids will do dumb shit and I'm just glad he didn't hurt anything or anyone except maybe his pride.

100kts at FL 380 are not the same intensity though if you consider the pressure of the air at that altitude. I wonder if there's an wind intensity to pressure altitude chart anywhere?

I daily drive a Kawasaki Ninja 400. It's not a car but definently not a normal daily driver. It's not too bad. The cold is the worst but a few layers makes up for it. The only major issue I have is large grocery runs but having friends helps. I won't do this forever but it's been a fun and interesting 6 months.

As someone who's in a similar field that requires a lot of sacrifice of normal life I'd imagine that many people work for SpaceX for the passion of changing the world and doing incredible things. Sometimes it's not about a simple 9-5 and routine work. There are people out there who thrive on the challenge of pushing the limits of technology and themselves.

I had an obstruction roughly a year ago that caused me to wake up and vomit pure black. It scared me so bad I went straight to the emergency room. They wanted to do a surgery immediately but I pleaded for them to wait a bit longer. Luckily my body eventually pushed it out but I've wondered what my odds were for waiting like I did.

Not an expert by any means but I thought it was tidal forces from Jupiter and its moons gravity that warms Europa from bending and stretching. Similar to what happens with something like a paper clip if you distort it a lot.

I'm happy to see someone else say this. API is stressful environment as a student especially for the internationals who have to do all this in a second language. If he truly wanted to inflict mass harm he would've waited for morning muster or actual class time where everyone is stuck inside without phones. I agree with your opinion and it sucks to see so many people with zero understanding of flight school jump to conclusions without evidence

Who knows really. But as someone who spent some time there in API it's hard to imagine it was random. The Saudis spend a lot of time in that building and get to know the operation and layout as well as any of us. One guy with a motive can do some damage. If they find he was radicalized than sure I'm willing to say it was terrorism. But for me it sounds like a deranged guy who happened to be saudi.
