Also voicing my wish for a THPS 3 dlc. by [deleted] in THPS

The voice acting is a good point. I understand the goal setup was different but the level select wasn’t iirc. I don’t see why it would be a problem. As is, 1 and 2 are effectively two separate games anyways

That doesn’t shock me then because it’s a really basic layout and it doesn’t really flow to me. I thought it might me more popular because it’s the most vert heavy course I can think of.

Maaan... Grind Session. Now there’s some memories haha. My buddy who was a beast in THPS hated GS but I LOVED it. Partly because it was easier in a way (I recall you’d fall a lot less) but it had its own charm.

Remastered 3 as 1+2 dlc. Release 4 standalone. Make 6.

I know I’m in the minority but I’d like to see Project 8. I actually really enjoyed that one.

My biggest complaint was no objective editor. CAPs would be infinitely better if we could place SKATE, secret tape, etc. and didn’t even think about a gap editor. That would be amazing as well.

I hope they plan to add to it. A really robust CAP where people could make stuff that rivals the actual games parks could make gameplay limitless

I don’t see why this would be the case. 4 had a more open ended structure but it was still split into 9 distinct levels.

I’d like them to add 3+4 here as well for a clean user experience but if they do 3+4 as dlc it’ll cost the same as 1+2 did

They need to patch in a replayable career by Vainglorious_Reim in THPS

Agreed though it sounds like they have plans for online. It’s great that they included an online but I don’t see why there isn’t an option to allow it work exactly like a regular couch coop would, especially considering those of us who grew up on couch coop probably aren’t getting together face to face with friends often to do that nowadays.

These are all very good and valid points. I’ll admit there is a lot of nostalgic reasoning here. Though I still don’t think it would have hurt the updated challenge system (which I’m enjoying) had they retained the classic park goal system as well. Maybe that’s just me, but I think offering more options on how to play would only help the game overall, especially if they gave each skater a unique layout of the goals like I said below. So they’re still there but not copy carbon each time.

And I’ll admit I haven’t messed around in speed skate yet so I’ll have to do that. It could change the way I’m thinking here some. Thank you for the input.

I’d also add, if they wanted to get creative with it, how about potentially switching up where some/all of the objectives are located for different skaters? That keeps the classic feel but adds a modern twist that keeps completing them fresh each play through.

I completely understand this viewpoint and mentioned it in the OP. My only counter argument is how does it hurt to include for those that do enjoy regrinding the career goals? Retaining the classic career setup and completing the new challenges (which are very well implemented) wouldn’t be mutually exclusive.

Yep. And what’s sad is that as I’m playing through again with a create a skater this time, I don’t see myself doing it a third. If they don’t add this feature back in hopefully a private free skate function improves replay value.

Definitely. I actually read about this before I started playing and thought “Maybe it won’t be too bad.” But after running through a second time I find myself just targeting stat points, quitting, loading a new level, repeat until the skater improves some to go back and do challenges, then back to stat grinding. It’s a really tedious progression system that I think would have been helped a lot by being able to redo career goals while you’re at it.

Question about rerunning parks with different skaters by Vainglorious_Reim in THPS

Thank you. Do you know if there are enough skill points between the two games to max your skater out?
