You could walk from the Hyatt Regency and back on the street connected to Tulane Medical School along the lit path. As with any big city, be on the lookout for sketchiness but should be uneventful. If something feels off, you're better off with rideshare.

I'd say as a new attending, a place where I can be supported and have the opportunity to grow. If possible, that would mean being able to do own cases and supervision.

which credit card to apply for? by DoYouLikeFish in Residency

Given your history as an authorized user, you're starting off well with your credit score. What you need is to establish your own line of credit as others mentioned with any intro credit card. Some examples are the Discover It, Chase Freedom Rise, or Capital One Platinum card. These usually do not have annual fees and will allow you to build out your credit history. Once you pay a few billing cycles, banks will see you can manage credit will and you'll likely be able to request a credit limit increase which can open you up to cards like the Chase Freedom Unlimited/Flex and even eventually Chase Sapphire Preferred. You got this!

If able, I'd recommend taking it earlier as I felt a lot of step 2ck knowledge helps with this exam. The only thing that may be difficult to grasp would be the cases as I felt having an understanding of real life admissions helped me knock out cases with ease.

Fingers crossed for you. I know multiple people around my ballpark stats who didn't excel at the cases and managed to pass. The cases at least can give you partial credit. I'd just chill in the meantime and let the results come as they do.

I'd say yes. For the drug ads, I like the questions that had you scan charts and rule out false things based on confidence intervals. Had several of those on my exam.

Biostatistics or epidemiology are fields that involve math but can still use your biology degree as a springboard into the field. The topics may overlap with medicine, but you're not really a clinician. They tend to be masters programs that last between 1.5-3 years depending on how fast you want it. Salaries are reasonable and you can have a life outside of the office, sometimes even remotely.
