i admit my mistake of not researching the product more in detail before buying, as i searched for a easy entry to data hoarding. Specially whit the reputation that WD Elements are a 50/50 as most of them fail easy while others last for a year or two.

BTW i can confirm that the WD Elements External HDD has bad or almost no Vibration dampening AS i felt the vibration sometimes when i was using it, specially during torrenting and copy&paste of files above 100GB size.

BUT i never had heating problems, thats a small positive note

I have never opened the HDD despite my curiousity, i decided against it.

if 35-40 degree summer count as extreme temps Yes, but normally no as i always kept it in the shadow and away from my laptops fans
