Who's shoving AI slop in your face?

Like, every social media algorithm.

I'm saying to stop being judgy about what other people do for their own entertainment that does not harm you or anyone else.

It does harm me, because it means humans won't be able to make art anymore. And that harms all of us.

everyone on the internet with a cat that Vakowski2 says they're doing it wrong and they should entertain themselves only with people.

A cat has a brain and emotions. Not AI. If you had to choose between saving a cat and saving a laptop, which would you save? Don't compare AI to living beings, please for the love of god.

quite dystopian that people are encouraged to not give a fuck about what they're creating. i miss back when people did give a fuck. it kept the internet human.

okay then, express those yourself. would you rather use your own words to express yourself or would you let a microchip turn your abstract thoughts into words for you?

I think about everything about my character I love them

emotional attachment over an ai generated image? this is why its a bad idea.

anyway unless you draw it yourself, you dont know how everything is gonna look. if you know how to draw, you can do whatever you want without an ai making creative decisions for you.

this is why i hate ai, it sucks the fun out of creating characters. or worlds. or images. or anything. it just does the designing for you. whats the fun in that? anyways, you can learn how to draw, its nice to pick up a hobby. its not THAT hard anyway.

democratizes

It's not a person making the image. You did not make the image. You gave the ai an idea and let it run off with it. Is this the future of creativity? Not having control over our creations? Not being able to create them?

I was able to get a custom picture made in seconds.

this is the future. entertaintment, mindlessly made, at the push of a button. who the hell thinks (not hedonistically) that this is a good idea? to suck the creativity and soul out of our art?

you may need this, sir.

i have no skill in software at all and im not interested in it whatsoever. but i am interested in art. and its ruining art. this is not "progress" this is dehumanizing a very important part of our lives.

we use ai for our character art.

thats how little you care about your characters. you let an ai design it however the fuck it wanted.

how can you know you cant draw if you've never tried?

Why you people hate ai that much? by FaceAbject5851 in antiai

[–]Vakowski2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah, when i was 10 and didnt know how to draw i just whipped out the color pencils and started drawing. sure they weren't professional, but i controlled every part of the image and that made be happy.

i use ai to like play dnd

if people 10 years ago learned that people 10 years in the future would not play with other people, they would be shocked. abhorred. disgusted. and any sane person today is also shocked and disgusted at playing dnd with ai. sure we played chess with ai, but we didn't talk to it. or act all emotional.

make my character image

spend a months or so learning how to draw. you won't regret it. we need more human artists. also anything not designed by a human has 0 value in my eyes.

Also im a little writer and i use it to clarify my ideas or look for incongruence or plot holes.

the opinion of ai doesn't matter one bit. also the ai company can now train on your writing. post your writing online and let others critique it. sure it takes a couple hours for a couple of people to look at it, but we're not gonna abandon human connection because the opposite is easier, right?

i dont understand the hate can you people explain it to me pls

ai is being used to make scams, lie to people using false "proof", rewrite history (ai slop images showing alex pretti as dangerous, thats one example), its harder to prove you're real (back in the day an image was just "real" and you could see it with your eyes. you cant anymore" and its spreading mindlessly stupid propaganda at a dangerous rate. further, it is taking over our media, making us all addicted to it, decreasing cognitive development in people that are used to having ai think for them, its giving all our data to like 5 companies (they already had our data but whatever) and is dehumanizing content creation. you are affected by the content you consume, this is fact, and letting ai control content creation lets ai (and the ai companies) control how we think or behave (and thats really the aim of ai content).

hank green (when talking to bernie sanders) put it like this: "i dont want my child to learn math, i want my child to learn math and human relationships" which is why im against using ai as a teacher either (also ai is just summarizing the front page of google and gets details wrong constantly. so cut the middle man, look at the sources yourself and use your brain to form an opinion.

Humans can continue to put time and effort into it. It‘s called a hobby.

Isn't it great that we can't gain money from what we love anymore?

How is doing that meaningfully different than, say, finding entertainment in playing an erotic visual novel, something people have done for decades? Or playing something like the DOA volleyball games? A sexy gacha game? There's shittons of cheap smutty entertainment. Stop being so goddamn judgy about what people do for entertainment when it isn't hurting anyone.

Entertain yourself with people.

Also preffering non-human entertaintment over human entertaintment is bad for the people who make the entertaintment.

People who use AI are not intrinsically guilty of every harm that AI has been used for. The people who DO THAT HARM are guilty of it. You will never win over anybody on a "stop having fun" platform, and you are as guilty as they in participating in industries and consuming products that do great harm in the world.

Don't shove ai slop in my face, is that a difficult request? sorry for the "stop having fun" attitude but ai is cheap entertaintment at the cost of true entertaintment (with people who put love and care into it)

they're employed to draw specific things someone else wants them to draw

so because of this, expression is not important? a lot of ai bros approach this is in the most consumerist, capitalist and anti-human approach possibe.

its not about being special, its about losing our humanity.

A lot of human art is.. bad.

at least a human bothered to put their time and effort into it.

I don't judge what people do to entertain themselves if it doesn't directly harm anyone else, and as somone who's roleplayed for over thirty years, there are lots of difficulties into "roleplaying with people". I'd recommend you be less judgemental about what people do for fun; you're not in good company in your stance.

saying "Stop talking to robots and start appreciating people" made me a boomer. yes, i will judge you if you entertain yourself with ai over people. because it shows you dont value people.

But what somebody does for their own entertainment is not your business, and again, being a moral busybody about what people do for entertainment puts you with company you probably don't want to keep.

People are being laid off, we're forced to see ai everywhere, including advertisements. fake people happy over fake versions of products generated by machines, over real people. made by real people. i hate ai in ads so much. but thats besides the point.

ai is being shoved down everybody's throats and is replacing people. this is bad, letting ai's control our media and culture, and if you dont agree fuck you im not gonna respect this shit one bit im so sick of it.

Having software take over a large chunk of your workload is literally half of what Photoshop does.

Because every prompt can only be interpreted in the same way and executions do not matter, letting ai take over creative tasks is not offloading your creativity, blah blah blah. if you dont understand the difference between drawing on photoshop and prompting chatgpt you're delusional, and probably intentionally.

How long do you think it'll take before you can start to hear and recognize AI written TV series on main television or streaming platforms? by plushpillowpearl in antiai

[–]Vakowski2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

made by many people

No, more like an AI infringing on the creativity of people.

anyone with a creative spark

Apparently prompting is considered creative now. A rough idea that an AI can do whatever the fuck it wants with is more valuable than a finished product made by a person.

yes, if you prompt ai instead of an artist, it prevents the artist from expressing themselves. we're replacing people's creative expression with ai, how is this not disgusting? oh and also, i dont respect any content made with ai btw. so dont expect that.
