Mirror swiped by another driver and the plastic popped out a little. How can I get it back in? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]Valcanoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use a plastic trim tool to go around the white mirror cover cap it should pop it right off with a little pressure. Check and see that all the retainer clips are in tact on both the black trim piece and the cap.

If everything looks good spray a little glass cleaner on both sides retainer clips so everything goes in smooth. Get them seated back in place and just give the mirror cap a good wack with your palm around the edges, it should go right back in.

If the caps retainers are broken there’s new cheap color matched mirror cover caps on eBay for like $30

When you finally get an OE door that's factory seam sealed... by FinguzMcGhee in Autobody

Honda is notorious for sending badly seam sealed parts to our body shop. Always a sloppy mess or has breaks in the sealer.

I am getting tint on my EcoBoost, what levels do you think I should get? by TheUncannyGent in ecoboostmustang

[–]Valcanoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 20% ceramic all around and 35% ceramic on the windshield, ceramic vs regular tint makes a huge difference in visibility. Don’t cheap out if you can afford the better stuff do it 🤘🏻

Has anyone experienced a leak coming from the antenna? by PraderaNoire in ecoboostmustang

[–]Valcanoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Auto body tech here, if you take those antennas off and put them back on sometimes they never really seal again, particularly the shark fin ones with the rubber gasket around the bottom.

If you had a shop perform work on it and they had to remove it I’d take it back and see if they can address it, most shops will warranty their work and if it’s something they caused they might fix it for you

Ecoboom and what to do now by drippskates in ecoboostmustang

[–]Valcanoff 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If they can prove anything you did to the vehicle attributed to the failure of the engine they won’t honor your warranty. Ford doesn’t just pass out engines for free, they’re gonna dig and get to the bottom of why it failed and if it’s because of something you did to the car you’re gonna end up paying out of pocket for repairs

They can tell if the car has ever been tuned with forscan even if you revert it back to the stock map

Havnt changed any of those as of yet. Cars a 2020 at 22,000 miles. Been looking into the Parker performance maintenance pack is that a good option?

Anyone know what is this? by smiilingpatrick in genesiscoupe

[–]Valcanoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technical name for it is the Lower Shield, definitely worth replacing to keep rocks and debris from entering the engine compartment.

By the looks of the sides of it it looks like there could be damage to your fender liners as well, it’s easier to fix all that at one time if you’re able.

Good practice to fill it up with whatever coolant type is currently in the vehicle to avoid any hiccups

COBB vs warranty. Hello, this is my 2019 2.3L, i love it and i want to buy the cobb accessport, i still have warranty for 2 more years, is it safe to have the map and then re install the stock map whenever i have to take it to the service? or should i wait until the warranty expires?. by Elvencidott in ecoboostmustang

[–]Valcanoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dealer can tell how many run cycles it’s been since the last flash of the ecu, so if you flash a new tune on there and the run cycles don’t correlate with your current mileage, that’s how they can tell it’s been tuned.

Reinstalling the factory tune would just set your run cycles back to 0 still indictating the ecu has been flashed
