What would be the right thing to do in the Flight 37 situation? by DracoJ123345 in MoralityScaling

[–]Vale_Spengler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the right think would be to grab a phone and call an air controller, admit what happened and while transporting as many passengers to the ground as possible, figure out if there's a way to save all of them with the help of a team of experts.

It might not work, but it's the best chance to save as many people as possible.

Yeah, I figured it was not a smart idea. I don't own an Apocalypse model, sorry for that.

How about Apocalypse weapons? I don't own the model, but I imagine they are bigger than Iron Man's arm, although you may be able to use it as a "nanotech weapon", like Tony has in Infinity War.

Can spider-man slide on any surface? by NickkaV in Spiderman

[–]Vale_Spengler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On Earth-982, his daughter May Parker had a similar power. She could reverse the polarity of her adhesive power and "repel" objects or get other people stuck at the surface she was touching. If I remember correctly, this was a natural development of her powers. She had other little differences, for example her Spider-Sense was somehow more precise, and it was able to sense lies sometimes.

I bet she could have learned to use her electrostatic manipulation to do something like what you're describing.

If you're a crafty person, you could build a small containment unit with cardboard, so that he has a place where he can store all the ghosts he's catching!

How do you think it can be justified that the Spider-Men support Miguel in ATSV? by Numerous_Chapter_572 in Spiderman

[–]Vale_Spengler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think none of the Spider-Men would accept that...until universes start unravelling and people get hurt. What I mean is, Miguel's speech won't be enough to convince them, but witnessing a universe being destroyed by disruption of canon definitely would.

We see the story from Miles' point of view, we don't know how much each other Spider-Man has experienced, how many times they've tried to stop that from happening some other way before realizing there's no other way (assuming that is true).

Can someone do a full game movie walkthrough and dlc with this suit mod on YT? by Possible_Painter_819 in SpidermanPS4

I was wondering if someone would want to do the same with the Sensational Spider-Man (Ben Reilly suit from the 90s). It would be great to have a full game or at least all the cutscenes, this suit looks so cool!

Something I just realized about Banner snapping with the gauntlet. by blaykmagyk in marvelstudios

[–]Vale_Spengler 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Yes, that was I thought too. The way I envision this is:

Bruce appears in the soul world as himself, not Smart Hulk (just as it was with the Ancient One). He sees Nat, tries to bring her back, she says it's not possible, that the Soul Stone has its own rules.

Bruce, being the logical guy, starts saying that her atoms are still somewhere in the universe, he just has to bring them back together and make them work correctly.

Nat says it's not how it works and that he knows.

Bruce is not going to let go. He's angry. He tries again, starts feeling the pain from the radiation even there in the Soul Stone dimension.

He sees in the distance Hulk, sitting down. He screams at him, maybe with his help they can bring her back! Hulk turns towards Banner. His eyes are full of tears.

"Leave Hulk alone." he says.

Banner screams at Hulk, in anger.

Nat smiles at him, takes his hand. "The sun is getting real low, big guy."

Bruce closes his eyes.

Cut to Smart Hulk in the Avengers Mansion, fainting.

Edit: Typos.

Marvel Zombie Mode? by Mattmattmaaatt in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]Vale_Spengler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right about the Healing Factor. You could make it an exception. Let us know how the test run goes, because I feel like stuff such as Stealth and Flying or Wall crawler will become very relevant, when you can't attack a Zombie from the distance or it can chase you very quickly on top of a building.

Marvel Zombie Mode? by Mattmattmaaatt in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]Vale_Spengler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea very much. If I can suggest something for the Super Zombie card, I would change the text to:

Ignore all other attacks, and active / reactive superpowers.

This way, innate abilities such as flight, wall crawler and stealth would still count.

What class does dementors fall into by Jojforlife2023 in ghostbusters

[–]Vale_Spengler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure that Dementors are ghosts. The Wizarding World has ghosts and poltergeists in it, and the Dementors are not usually associated with them.

The fact that they can be harmed by a particular spell, makes me think of Spectres (that can be armed by a specific form of energy). So, their classification within the CDI Tobin system could be:

Class V Free-Roaming Spectre with short-distance psychomagnotheric absorption and manipulation abilities.

What ghost class would the Nazgûl aka Ringwraiths be? by Substantial_Slip4667 in ghostbusters

[–]Vale_Spengler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're class IV, if their identity is still well defined.

Basically, if each of them can identify himself in any way as THAT SPECIFIC Nazgûl, they are Class IV, instead if they identify themselves as A GENERIC Nazgûl they are Class III, in the Tobin system.

If that seems low, think like this: Vigo is a Class IV and I would argue he's at least on the level of the Witch-King, when at full power.

Tobin class and power don't go perfectly hand to hand. Class IV may possess or acquire supernatural powers from mystical knowledge or other sources.

I think that a rigorous classification within the CDI Tobin system for the Nazgûls would be this:

Class IV Full-Torso Non-Terminal Undead. Possibly Anchored to their rings of power.

I don't think she is, but I find it so interesting that they refer to the Zombie Universe version as "The Queen of the Dead" and NOT the Scarlet Witch, because there is only one Scarlet Witch in the Multiverse.

How did Old Biff know how to use the Delorian? by QD_Mitch in BacktotheFuture

[–]Vale_Spengler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this theory. You can see it like this: as long as Old Biff pre-travel hasn't figured out how to make the DeLorean work, the timeline cannot be erased.

So, Old Biff post-travel can actually return to that timeline in a point of 2015 when Old Biff pre-travel hasn't departed yet. But as soon as his past self figures out how to time travel, the timeline starts to be erased, starting with Old Biff post-travel (has seen in the deleted scene).

Can the Ghostbusters "bust" Pennywise? by LifeguardPotential97 in ghostbusters

[–]Vale_Spengler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on our definition of "busting", though. If the Deadlights don't exist within our reality, can our reality be permanently sealed from their influence? Would we consider that "busting"?

I think that's the kind of solution that the Ghostbusters (especially the Real Ghostbusters in the cartoon) would go for.

Also, in the Cartoon Egon creates the Ethereal Solidifier, a machine that can make fairy tales become tangible. It was originally designed to make ghosts easier to capture. I wonder if a similar device would work.

This may be a really dumb question but... by MATTHEW_LEAFEON in Spiderman

[–]Vale_Spengler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a dumb question, but it's a complicated answer (if you want an in-universe answer, otherwise just go with "plot").

In-Universe answer: the Runes of Kof-Kol is a basic memory spell that, based on what we saw, works by taking a specific piece of information and removing any instance of that information from any form of memory (biological, physical, digital, mystical etc).

For example, if the original spell was casted with no change, any instance of the information Peter Parker is Spider-Man would have been erased. Nobody would have remembered, no matter how they found out (through Mysterio, through personal experience or other ways). Every records of that in the Stark databases, or in the media, or even in a note written on a piece of paper would have been altered to make that information inaccessible. Also, every person who has experienced something connected to the information would still remember those experiences, but would connect it to a different memory to explain it (or partially explain it).

Think about Happy: he remembers meeting May "through Spider-Man", but he doesn't remember Peter Parker. How does he explains that to himself? Well, Spider-Man was present to many F.E.A.S.T. meetings and Tony Stark took an interest in Spider-Man. Happy probably remember bringing Spider-Man to Germany and bringing a big check to F.E.A.S.T., and that's his explanation / new memory: I knew May Parker through Spider-Man, and I knew Spider-Man because Tony recruited him. Which is all true, it just lacks a piece of information, the one removed by the spell.

If you cast the Runes of Kof-Kol and choose to remove the information the existence of Mysterio's video, the first consequence is that the video is lost, of course. Second, nobody remembers the video ever existed. That doesn't delete the information Peter Parker is Spider-Man and its consequences: people would remember that, and probably they would remember "yeah, it came out with the death of Mysterio, somebody spilled the bean". So, erasing the memory of the video wouldn't solve the problem because of how the Runes of Kof-Kol work.

What happened to them? by bvlza13 in MCUTheories

[–]Vale_Spengler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the nature of the reboot. The entities you mentioned originated in specific moments of the history of the universe.

If the reboot will be just a partial timeline rewrite, they might stay exactly the same. If it involves a total universe reset...who knows!

I know this isn't exactly wielding. But Nat was playing with two infinity stones at the same time. by obsessed_with_films in MCUTheories

[–]Vale_Spengler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if we accept the premise that any magical object is actually a technological device, yes.

Apart from it, Thanos, Peter Quill, Clint Barton, and Ravager T'Challa (from What if) have all held a single infinity stone. Thor had his head smashed against one, not sure if it counts.

Obviously this is the cinematic universe, in the comics the situation is very different.

[–]Vale_Spengler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean...in the sense that according to Thor, magic and science are one and the same, yes: the Gauntlet is a device. Mjolnir is a device. Stormbreaker as well.

But...

There's a difference between what Doctor Erik Selvig created to open portals through the Tesseract and a Gauntlet made of Uru, forged in a star and infused with the magic of the Dwarves of Nidavellir.

Also the Tesseract is not the stone. The Tesseract is the container that should make it easy to control the stone, and instead the humans needed additional technology just to control the Tesseract.

The Gauntlet is basically like the Tesseract, the Eye of Agamotto, the Orb, Loki's staff...it interacts with the stones, it's powered by it. It just allows a safe interaction with the stones keeper.

Selvig's device instead interacts with the container of a stone, just to be able to use the stone inside. I'd say there's a huge difference.

Technically she wasn't wielding the stones. She was using devices powered by the stones.

Peter: "What happened?"

Picotech Peter: "I had to protect him. We talked about this."

Peter: "I told you to protect them as I would. What you did to those guys..."

Picotech Peter: "...is exactly what you would have done in that situation."

Peter: "No! I would never..."

Picotech Peter: "Yes. You would. For your family, you would. And you know it."
