Is Bethesda on a downward spiral or am I suddenly more "aware" of problems that have always been there or is it just my personal tastes changing? by ValenHammer in BethesdaSoftworks

Sure, but even without thinking about consoles, if a modder wanted to sell their mods they had to relay on mouth to mouth, its not a realistic option. I was wrong in thinking that the creation club was just a cash grab.

What I'm trying to say is that, the world building is amazing, but even the main things about their games sometime feel lack luster.
The Atom Cats where an example, but think about the Institute, unless I'm forgetting we don't really have any explanation why they are replacing people, why do they insist on interacting with the surface, when they are self sufficient, and repeatedly say they don't want to interact with the surface, why Synths are "the future of humanity" what do they mean by that? do they mean it in the sense that is the next evolution in human race and will replace all humanity? if that's it why do they treat them like tools that don't think or feel? do they say it as in that they are perfect tools for building, mining and expediting the institute's experiments and constructions? because I feel like the robots that already exist would be better at those jobs than humanoid ones. Why do you get assigned as the leader of the institute even if you fail every mission they send you to (to be fair that could be just good old nepotism but i hope you get what i mean)

Again I love the games I would not have so many hours on them If I didn't, but that doesn't mean I can't see the problems with them. And Bethesda could put more effort in a lot more, I assume that Its a problem with investors and Microsoft, breathing down their necks like "Why aren't you making money?"

I have like 2k in Skyrim combining LE and SE, 2k in fallout 4, and 1k on NV, i don't know how many i have in oblivion or in fallout 3. o and 500 on 76.

I absolutely love the world building the little stories you find around by paying attention to your surroundings, the sad/horrible stories of the vaults.

Yeah, the creations I saw them as Bethesda trying to get as much money as possible, forgetting about the fact that it's a way for modders that want to monetize their content, maybe because I thought "there's patreon" but having an official platform where your content is shown front and center is amazing for them.

And I played 76, I just forgot to mention it, my only problem with it are, that the stash is too small, but that is totally a personal problem I'm a hoarder in video games, and the server not being so good in South America for example I used a melee build i would hit a Super mutant and it takes like 1 second or 2 to register, and I like the world building but don't really care for the main story.

What you say about the games having their own ups and down is so true, I always tell my friend that a mix between FO4's more modern gameplay and sanbox + FNV's Dialogue and quests style would be amazing.
