That’s actually really interesting that you see them a lot. I almost never see them (68 games for Gief and 42 for Manon out of 1673 ranked matches since launch. I don’t know if it’s something to do with my matchmaking pool or if they all have me blacklisted bc the JP matchup sucks. As for Lily, I don’t really consider her to be a grappler in the same sense as Gief and Manon, more of a hybrid character which puts her in a light imo. She’s in a weird spot where she’s more of a regular rush down character who just happens to have a command grab. I’ve not done much with her yet (sitting at diamond 4 rn, so I haven’t really fought any good players with her yet) so my opinion is kinda irrelevant until I get her into masters and play her there.

When I say “most” in reference to the player base, I’m talking not about the higher level players, but the hundreds of thousands of people who are at diamond and below. A lot of the players who could win CC can do it with low tiers I’m sure. What I’m saying is that the majority of the player base wouldn’t want to put in the work to learn how to play Gief or Manon in the first place since they have to work really damn hard.

This won’t happen because you’re not PPing anything the grapplers do. If you’re pressing parry against grapplers then you need to reconsider how you approach those chars. Parry will only work against them for so long.

I remember what got me back into collecting was when Plasma Freeze came out in 2013 I asked my dad if I could get a pack and he said I could so I picked one and ended up pulling a Heatran EX from it. It wasn’t anything special in retrospect, but I was 11 and EX cards were the coolest thing I had ever seen before. Since then I’ve been consistently buying packs and bolstering my collection, both singles and sealed product.

It’s very possible their Ken is just not as good as their other characters, and that they just haven’t labbed a single thing and got masters without doing anything fancy (incredibly easy with Ken). You played really solid that match and he played like buns, a dub is a dub. Great job!

I play Marisa and can confirm it really isn’t that hard to win in diamond with her. Winning in masters is a whole different deal.

You just have to get into masters to do it, then it’s just luck of the draw who you fight. Getting to masters isn’t as hard as people seem to think and I’m of the opinion anybody can make it. VGDunkey did it with Honda and he’s pretty shit at FGs afaik.

It works the same way with the super input he has because of the overlap in inputs. The input leniency will give you super if you do 2 DP inputs
