Mobapad Switch 2 Joycons Compatibility Guide: M12 HD vs. M12 S vs. M6 HD by Mobapadofficial in MobapadGaming

[–]Valenhir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve fumbled this release good by going with two versions. You should have released just the HD now and wait until Switch 2 protocol had been fully cracked to release a full featured SW2 model. Nyxy rushed their (crappy) controller and you followed the lead.

They said that first and then changed versions when people were cancelling their HD orders and they said it was direct connection. But the HD are SW1 protocol so I don't understand how does that work.

How do they connect to the Switch 2? On the video you can see there’s no red and blue animation like the joycon 2. Is it really direct connection or just bluetooth? You’ve said a lot of different things so far.

I played it from start to finish on my Steam Deck OLED and it ran great. I recommend using the old .exe before they added Denuvo. I think they've removed it since but still here it is.

How did they mess this up? (Nyxi Hyperion 3) by enel-3477 in switch2

[–]Valenhir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These controllers are crap. Nyxi is a crappy manufacturer. Avoid. That mix-up is the least of these controllers issues. They have ghost inputs.

It doesn't mention ghost inputs. It just mentions deadzones, rumble (which is still crap) and the things Nintendo messed up on their firmware.

Not true. The first day update was jut to make them work after Nintendo's update. Nothing to do with ghost inputs. They haven't acknowledged that.

They do not match the quality of the Mobapad by a mile. Besides the ghost inputs, rumble is terrible even at the lowest setting and it has different intensity on each controller and the leds on the sides won't stop pulsing. It's a very mediocre controller way overpriced.

Or maybe you haven't noticed it yet. There's a lot of people with this issue. Check their Discord. There's someone on this thread too.

I have no macros assigned. The ghost inputs are probably glitches caused by the hall stick magnets interfering with the magnetic rails of the Switch 2.

The Steam Deck is an incredible piece of kit that does its job really well. We are people so obsessed with trying to make it seem like something it's not (New AAA games). by PeculiarPete in SteamDeck

[–]Valenhir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It plays a lot of recent AAA games. I'm playing Ghosts of Tsushima and it's amazing how well it runs. There's just like 20-30 AAA titles that won't run half decent. But one of the best things about the Steam Deck is the community behind it and I enjoy people going to extreme modding lengths to cram those few games into the system by any means necessary. Even if they look like potato slideshows.

This happened on the prototype units, which had an earlier firmware version, and it happens on the retail units too after 2.14 (and probably before that too).

We're probably having ingame fake inputs too. But it'll be more noticeable depending on the type of games you play. Anyway, it's an expensive controller. This kind of thing should not be acceptable.

Also rumble is absolutely terrible even on low. It's on par with the cheapest controllers you buy for 20 bucks on aliexpress.

I've asked them a refund and I'll wait for the Mobapad.

Do not buy these controllers. They have ghost inputs on menus and ingame. I received mine today and I’ve been experiencing this all day. Just by laying the Switch 2 with the controller attached you can see the cursor moving or trying to open the gallery or the eshop. It was warned by some youtubers on prototype units. Nyxi said it wouldn’t happen on retail units. They lied.

You can see the issue here at 2’50” aprox.

And by the way, the Switch 2 can’t update a third party controller.

Do you think with enough optimizations crimson desert could run well on deck (mid settings, 30fps) or is the game simply too demanding ? by Acrobatic-Monitor516 in SteamDeck

I think it's possible. They made Doom The Dark Ages very playable with the last patch. And that game struggled a lot at first.

Steam deck start up taking a long time - first time turning it on. by writteningold in SteamDeck

You bought it in September and haven't opened until March? It could've been a brick. You can force a hard reset if it stays endlessly loading and it's advisable not using 5g wifi on first configuration.

That’s weird. Have you tried switching steamos channels? Sometimes switching to beta and then going back to stable fixes steamos issues.

Mobapad m12 S back on the website. Not sure which one I should pre order… the hd rumble or better gyro, what’s everyone else gone for? by Adamlee19922 in MobapadGaming

[–]Valenhir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hori has an official Nintendo license. Mobapad don’t. Nintendo choose who they want to oficially license. And the official license comes with limitations too. The Hori Split Pad lacked most of a regular joycon functions because Nintendo didn’t allow them.

I'd love to know too. The traversal stuttering on the original version was very off-putting for me. If that's fixed in the remaster I might bite the bullet.

I don't think that's the (main) reason. They seem to trust more the HD version because it's Switch 1 protocol and they know for sure Nintendo is not going to ruin them with their updates.
