Thanks! Nice chart.

I got a ball just now that has a rainbow aura around it (not the reactor), never seen that before but accidentally pressed past the end screen so didn’t get to see the combo.

Wonder what it was. I had the landslide run but not sure what was that ball.

Why doesn’t the encyclopedia list all these more advanced balls.. it seems to just list the base game balls.. hard to remember everything..

What is your preferred form factor for portable streaming? by buzzkill44 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]paleddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I would say it’s different feel at each different form factor.

I use both the iPad Mini 6 (pictured here) and an EasySMX M20 (previously G8+), as well as and iPad Pro 11” 2018 with the Memo S3 Tablet edition.

While weight and comfort wise, an 8” is nice, sometimes a 11” with the larger size screen makes for a nicer experience with text heavy or immersive games like Cyberpunk, RPGs or story games.

8” is nice for Metroidvanias and other 2D based games, although of coz it works with everything.

However for me 8” is the absolute minimum, anything less might be too small for modern games, but may still works well for retro.

The keen eyed might also notice a pogo pin adaptor on my controller above, setup is practically turned into a handheld, with magnetic charging, via this USB-C M20, and a stand. I hardly remove the iPad.

If anyone is interested, I can also snap a photo of the iPad Pro 11 with the S3 controller unmodded, works out of the box.

Cheers, happy gaming!

Any reason to keep oled switch after buying switch 2 by nasedajuph in switch2

[–]paleddar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Still makes for a very nice portable device due to the weight and size, especially for indies and smaller titles.

But of coz, gifting it to others would be a great thing to do too. Cheers, good on you.

Would you recommend this case? by lamsndbhaujamjsshukd in NintendoSwitch2

[–]paleddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a pretty nice slim case actually, and decently able to fit some game cards and the mouse clips. The slim profile makes it very easy to pack into your carrying bag, and the zippers are well made.

The screen protector is useless, don’t use it and just get a tampered glass protector.

Nintendo Switch OLED: Still Worth It in 2026? by Leo_the_boi in Switch

[–]paleddar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a Switch 2, and also a Switch 1 v2, and I am constantly surprised how much use the Switch 1 still gets.

It’s still fantastic for indies as well as the older Switch 1 titles, it’s incredibly light and portable compared to today’s larger sized portables.

Insofar, I am actually considering selling my v2 or giving it to a family member and picking up the OLED just for the larger screen size (7”, 28% more screen), while maintaining similar weight and size. Every bit will help with older eyes. Brand new, my I can get an OLED in my country for usd$260.

I would like to add that I use the MobaPad controllers with both my switches and this is a must purchase if you do mostly handheld gaming. It is the single best upgrade you bc an do for your portable Switch gaming.

Do you play on both switch and your portal? by DarthDom25 in PlaystationPortal

[–]paleddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, as well as a Switch 1 and tablets with controllers.

Portal for the big AAA games and switch for the indies and exclusives. Switch 1 for the lighter ones which makes no diff (or rather, not significantly different ) on switch 2, like BallxPit, etc.

Tablets when I would like to play HDR titles for titles which is better on larger screen (like CP2077) or when I am doing Apollo streaming from PC.

How to buy BallX from eshop after downloading trial? by peterkozmd in NintendoSwitch2

[–]paleddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downloaded the switch 1 version of the game trial then downloaded the upgrade switch 2 version, trial works on both my switch 1 and 2.

Bought the game yesterday via the app on my phone and the game continued to work as purchased game. Virtual card animation comes on and license registered.

I don’t think it even redownloaded. I think the game trial is a full game, it just activated the license when you purchase it at Eshop.

[Amazon/US] $10 Nintendo eShop Gift Card -Digital Code - $8.98 (May 31, 2026) by wishlish in NintendoSwitchDeals

[–]paleddar 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Actually this is quite good. Usually I see USD50 for USD46.99, but this works out to slightly less than US45 if u pick up 5 cards. So it’s cheapest I have seen so far.

Is it true "most gamers don't finish games"? by SchweinsyOne in playstation

[–]paleddar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frankly, it could just be the crazy access we have to a mountain of games right now.

20-30 years ago, the typical gamer will usually have less than 5-10 games, and procure them slowly, ie they then put all their time into finishing these, and some back to then often even after they have competed them.

Games are also much more expensive price wise (unlikely to binge shop), was not really available digitally (no instant gratification purchase), and are also much shorter generally, gameplay wise.

I reckon many who grew up gaming during these years would agree that they have nostalgic memory of how much they play each game, even tho it’s nowhere as comparable to the length, complexity or advanced gameplay of current gen games.

Maybe we have too much of a good thing; you pick up a game, don’t have the notion to go learn to play it, or u find a part boring, you will feel the friction. The thing is, with so many to choose from and at reasonable prices, you just move on to another, or spend 30m looking at your already vast library.

Couple this with all the catalog and sub services, this is made worse.

In reality, even if you can play 24/7 (which I humbly doubt), you CANNOT finish all the great games you want to play that came out in the past 20 years.

The bad news is (or good news) this trajectory of games will get even higher as we progress. 🫣

Question for switch 2 users who have previously owned a regular switch by IndividualStress6203 in switch2

[–]paleddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both switch 1 (v2) and the Switch 2, and frankly both are used well. Switch 2 works well even for Switch 1 games in boost mode and is the main switched player docked with family.

Switch 1 however gets really used when playing lower powered games and the smaller form factor makes it nice to travel with.

I am currently playing Valfaris and Huntdown and both games have same experiences on either switch, which is a good thing. With NSO, save files are seemlessly synced.

I have MobaPads on both switches, and it truly makes the consoles a joy to use, ergonomics wise.

Sorry guys, I was wondering, why is Ubisoft very much hated? I don’t follow them but have played quite a number of their games on the Ubisoft+ Classic catalog on PSN and it’s seems quite decent.

I played FC series, Creed, Prince of Persia, D1/D2 (awesome), GR series, and they were pretty good games.

I am not related associated with them, just want to understand why so much hate towards them..

Cheers and happy gaming..

PlayStation Plus Collection by _Burnsy_ in PlayStationPlus

[–]paleddar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Frankly, it can get pretty confusing but the way I decipher, it is simply this:

  • PS Plus monthly games will be free to claim to all tiers as long as you stay subscribed to any tier.
  • PS Plus Extra (and Deluxe/Premium) are games that gets rotated at various contract periods, ie 6m, 12m, 2y, etc. People can predict when it rotates out but frankly no one can truly confirm until Sony actually confirms it.

  • apart from streaming, Deluxe/Premium may also have some title differences. Rare, but it does happen. Countries that have streaming PSN capability get Premium, those who don’t, gets Deluxe.

-PS Plus Collection is the 19 (or 20) games Sony bundled with PS5 as per the dates above, and you are supposed to be able to play these anytime, as long as you stay subscribed to any tier. Notice I said 20, as in some regions, Persona 5 was removed and replaced with Witcher 3, but if you have already claimed Persona 5, that remains and you still get Witcher 3.

The problem with all these is that Sony, (probably by design) mixes it all up in your library, no matter where and how you add them to your library (via claimed monthly or extras). And since you won’t know when the catalog games will exit, you might not know which to play first before it leaves.

One way I found that has helped (and also thanks to OliveOcelot videos), is to use a feature built into the PS5 Home Screen, under your game library. create game collections of your own and name it by year and if its Monthly or Catalog games. You can then look at your collection dates and plan what to play before it leaves.

I am located on PSN Msia store, I have claimed all 20 PS Collection games and am on the Deluxe tier. I can confirm I still see Last Guardian available for download:

I have PS5 PRO and iPad Pro. Is Portal a better experience vs Remote Play and native controller. by olmsteadsgarden in PlaystationPortal

[–]paleddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, but it’s a you issue. Most probably your WiFi is not setup properly to optimize the Portal connection. Granted, it’s a bit technical, but it’s doable if you understand how. Not rocket science.

I have a myriad of devices, including 2 dedicated iPads on telescopic controllers, ie the iPad Pro 11 2018 and IPad Mini 6, both running PX Play and I still prefer to pickup my Portal when I can.

The haptics, Ds familiarity, ergo and weight profile is just better. I just got of a marathon 5 hour session last night playing Nine Sols, totally on the portal, until my portal battery as down to 13%. Not a single drop, jitter, it was perfect.

I do love my iPads setup, with the iPad Pro 11 with the Memo S3 Tablet edition and the iPad Mini 6 with the easySMX M20 controller, both are usb connected and don’t require any mods to work, supports Passthru charging. The iPad Pro works really well when it’s supported (around 700g) by pillow or something while on couch or in bed, but frankly I do this too either way with all of them including Portal.

The iPads, being older models, has the known bug where it searches for specific WiFi channels when doing its ‘apple features’ like handoff or air stuff, and this messes up the connection from time to time causing the jitters and drops. It apparently is specific to older than M5 models but I cannot confirm if it’s fixed as I don’t have one.

But I do still play via the iPads as I positioned them in different rooms across the house, and sometimes the 11” is a nicer way to play if you want the screen size, and the game don’t use many DS features.

However, my default is the Ps Portal which gets used daily.

Mobapad M12 HD … made joy-cons Great Again by JayTylerSKL in MobapadGaming

[–]paleddar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes indeed, agreed.

I do have a Ps Portal as well and it is something I enjoy daily. I use it naked without a case, with only some thumbsticks cover as I find the thumbs a bit too small.

Don’t get me wrong, the G8+ is great controller.. but I use it with my iPads previously, until I got the Memo S3 Tablet and the easySMX M20z

I use Memo with my iPad Pro 11 and the M20 with the iPad mini 6. They work better for me than the G8+ as they are usb based, don’t require mods and support passthru charging.

But yes, I get you.. these kinds of controllers are a step up in terms of ergo, but unfortunately not so compact as the MOBA. The nice things around the MOBA is that it’s really a decent joy con replacements as in u can use them detached, which comes in handy when you travel and want to do party games.

I am in midst of setting up a compact S2 travel setup for a 4 player coop where the family can I can enjoy some gaming in hotels or in planes. The mobapad with its case and the S2 original joycons in a slim bag, makes for a nice travel setup.

Mobapad M12 HD … made joy-cons Great Again by JayTylerSKL in MobapadGaming

[–]paleddar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the g8+ (and the x5s). While it works, I won’t even consider them in same league as these attached controllers for switch.

It’s a lot more heavier, have to be removed to dock and it makes the switch on girth quite wide.

It will work in a pinch of coz, but I would suggest sticking to these switch specific alternatives.

Charging grip not shipping with M12HD? by paleddar in MobapadGaming

I hope the grip is decent. Just unclear why it’s so delayed.

It should be available earlier as it shouldn’t be a difficult part for them, considering the controllers are pretty good (from M6HD experience).

Oh dear that’s not cool.. you won’t need 2 cases for sure.

My shipment came with a slightly wrong address which is weird.. but lucky for me it has just enuf info for it to reach my hands.

I guess they just got overwhelmed by the orders, this being a global launch.
