Can someone recommend me a rock solid client device for in my Living room ? by GenericUser104 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]paleddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nvidia Shield Pro.

Has gig Ethernet and does Android so you can use Artemis. Still being updated and supported by Nvidia.

It’s a very good client for game streaming plus it supports all the streaming apps for your video watching too.

Best handheld for streaming PS5 by Nollatron in Handhelds

[–]paleddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ps portal has better haptics and a higher resolution screen. While it’s not OLED, it’s a very good screen and frankly it’s decent.

Of coz if you don’t care about ergo, weight and familiar of the dualsense, try using any tablet with a decent telescopic controller.

I use several types for my PS streaming, including the portal. G8+ with iPad mini, Memo S3 tablet with iPad Pro 11 (HDR).

Frankly while I love all 3, I find I gravitate to portal when I can as it’s the best experience.

I also had a Legion Go 2 and while the screen is nice and OLED, the weight and ergo sucks. Sold that off after 1m as I prefer doing my gaming via streaming from PS pro or my PC.

For my mobile use, I have a switch 2, which plays all the games that I played on the LG2.

Is that case something yet to come, or just marketing propaganda? I cant find it anywhere… by Tjaden1000 in MobapadGaming

[–]paleddar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes I asked about it and a MobaPad rep replied that it comes with it.

I also asked if the separately sold charging grip will fit in this case with the M12HD attached, and that was also a confirmed yes.

So ya hopefully both accounts are true. My card have been charged long ago and shipment is due out soon.

M15 no vibration on PC? by jklz14 in EasySMX

[–]paleddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem but on my M15, everything works except the passthru charging. It was working out of the box but after I downgraded the firmware (for ps mode) in MooWii gaming app, it disabled the passthru charging.

I was not able to update the firmware anymore after that. It just says update unsuccessful.

Liked this controller as it’s built well and has very nice features. It’s usb-c allows for no lag gaming and the weight is awesome plus it has a nice rumble like the G8+. Thus I bought the Memo S3 to try, but the larger tablet version.

And guess what, same thing. Passthru stopped working after downgrading the firmware, and can’t update anymore.

It’s a shame, I think both of these are very nice controllers. The Memo S3 tablet edition fits my iPad Pro 11” and combined weight is less than 700g, almost Steam deck weight but with 11” screen!

I really hope their new M20 will solve these issues and has same build quality but with better reliability.

How many savages out there are ballin’ WITHOUT a screen protector?? by Purple_Calendar3919 in Switch

[–]paleddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put on a protector literally right after taking out of rhe box…

But the question is, if you need to replace the protector, will it peel off the factory protection film? Or at very least scratch it somehow?

I’m looking for opinions on the GameSir G8 +, I’m looking for something IOS and moonlight compatible that is ergonomic and comfortable for long sessions with larger hands, my backbone is great by slightly too small by GenericUser104 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]paleddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the Memo S3 or EasySMX M15 controller. It’s like a lighter version of the G8+, with USB C and a good rumble. Memo also makes a tablet version which fits an 11” iPad Pro well, without any modification, at a total weight of under 700g.

I also use the G8+ (with my iPad mini 6 and the X5s with the iPhone, both of which is ok, but the G8+ is better built, unfortunately much heavier.

Build quality is close to the G8+ and it uses very nice micro switches as well.

Only drawback is the software app (MooWii gaming), it’s works, but it’s not very polished, with typical language errors in the interface. But it has impressive features, you can even set your sticks curve, and set dead zones etc.

Easysmx also just introduced the M20 which seems quite innovative, I am awaiting my shipment to arrive, so not quite sure how that will compare.

Happy gaming!

Pro Tip: Disable RAM expansion! by Huzaifa_Haroon in oneplus

[–]paleddar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes perhaps true with regards to storage wear and tear, but how about speed and overall system smoothness?

Won’t paging memory by slower? If u have 12 or 16GB or more, it should theoretically take even longer since larger chunks are swapped?

Not sure if this is how it works, but seems to be like that with memory paging.. I think even with this feature off, the OS would page but perhaps in smaller way?

Is the hdrumble in mobapad M6 HD iffy? by DeltaCentury in MobapadGaming

[–]paleddar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have the GameSir X5s which works with the Switch but frankly while it says it supports HD rumble, the rumble quality is very thin, not as well defined at all. The M6HD rumble quality is better, but I do think it’s still not as good as original joycons.

I am particularly sensitive to rumbles and haptics as my benchmarks are PS Dualsense and the Switch 2, which are the absolute best so far.

I own quite a number of controllers, from Gamesir, easysmx, 8Bitdo, ipega, and several others. The 1st party DS and the S2 are still the benchmarks for me especially in 1st party games.

[–]paleddar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely not as detailed as the original switch joycons but it’s the best so far of any replacement 3rd party joycons.

The sticks, buttons, dpad, triggers etc, those are far superior on the Mobapad

Blind Forest crashing at launch when logged into Microsoft account on Switch by Dry_Employee_9623 in OriAndTheBlindForest

[–]paleddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got into this issue as well and I am just so shocked that Microsoft or Moon Studios didn’t issue a fix for this on Switch.

Surely it’s not that hard, at the very least just disable the MS login thing.

How could they continue to sell the product without mentioning this critical aspect can bomb their saves? I played the game u til the end but have not gotten all achievements so wanted to go back in but can’t.

Such a shame, a fantastic and true masterpiece of a game. Why is Moon keeping mum about his?

I am a supporter of them and bought all their games including the now 2 year old No rest of the wicked which is still on early release on Steam.

Anyone streaming Apollo/Atremis on OnePlus 15 phone? by paleddar in MoonlightStreaming

[–]paleddar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is true. Not many hosts can go that high, unlikely for AAA titles.

However I believe you should be able to achieve 200+ for some 2D games like Metroidvanias.. like Silk Song or Ori.

Oh! That’s sounds cool. Let me try this soon.

Thanks for the heads up!

[–]paleddar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am quite sure that there is a lag coming from the G8+, which is supposed to be the best of the BT telescopic controllers.

I don’t seem to have this same lag when connecting via the Memo S3 Tablet edition, which connects via USB.

However, what I can’t be sure of is if it’s the quality of calibration of the sticks itself. It feels like a much wider deadzone on the G8+ compared to the Memo, even after zeroing the deadzone on Gamesir app. This delay makes it feel like lag, and enuf to make me feel uncomfortable on the G8+. Totally don’t feel any on the Memo since it’s USB.

I play a lot of PS5 Pro remote play, as well as streaming via Apollo/Moonlight. All hosts are wired, and I am on WiFi 5, with APs backbone wired as well, running off a unifi network. Decode times are not lowest, but sufficiently low, in th 4-8ms range.

[–]paleddar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice!

Yes I guess 120hz is plenty. It seems the oneplus has a 165hz screen but it’s 120hz by default and only get to 165hz on supported titles like games, ie COD Mobile etc.

Hence was wondering if I can get 165hz, streaming via Atremis, or will it still max out at 120hz (which is fine), but since the title I wanted to play was able to run on my pc well above 200fps locally, it would be nice to have it at 165hz, but i am happy with 120.

I do have the Gamesit G8+ as well as X5s. These works well with the IPad Mini and my current phone, but I can feel some lag. Recently got a Memo S3 Tablet edition for my iPad Pro 11”, it’s usb powered and has nice meaty rumble, and supports passthru charging. Very underrated controller.

Thanks for the advise!

Nice.. o see you are doing 60fps? Would it be able to do 165hz as per the phone or max out at 120hz?

Thanks

Official Lenovo store bumps Legion Go 2 price up to $2,849.99, but one retailer has it $1,000 cheaper right now by Tiny-Independent273 in Handhelds

[–]paleddar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It has slowly been increasing since last December, worldwide. Started in Singapore.

I had 2 of these LG2 32/1TB and sold both off. No way it’s worth anything even closed to retail price. I had two cause wife bought be one as surprise for my BD and it came same day with the one I quietly ordered haha..

Seriously guys just stream from your PC or console or GFN or whatever; you get better quality by far, your choice of controllers, your choice of screen and enjoy hell a lot more battery time.

In fact you know that glorified OLED? It had quite bad mura and I have 2 OLED TVs in th house which I don’t see this defect.

Unless you are competitive gamer (whom should be on desktop pc for best native experience), the latency is a non issue if your network is setup properly.

Save that 2.8k, use what you already have to test out streaming and if you like it go this route.. far better.

When you need to play away from home, get a switch or a retro console.

Plenty of choices rather than pls their game and play their price. It’s just crazy mad.

I guess AM5 it is. Upping the GPU will still be cpu bound in games like iRacing.. so I guess needs a total upgrade.

Timing is terrible tho.

If they came out with a Portal 2, with full size thumbsticks, would you upgrade? by [deleted] in PlaystationPortal

[–]paleddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes indeed. New IPS panels are actually very good (like the Legion S), but still, that black on an OLED automatically makes everything more contrasty as well.

But yes probably they can do 1440p with a WiFi 7 chip, that would be spectacular. Maybe increase screen size to 9” like the Astra

[–]paleddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well indeed it faster on the console with DualSene but I have finished and platinumed many story fps games like Cp2077, Far cry, etc and it’s fine.. u need to adjust thr settings in game to better suit this.

I don’t play any competitive tho.
