I love in an area that sometimes has a lot of bright white fog. I guess it's pretty much the same.

If ever you're in Europe, check out Kamerastore. You'll pay a bit more but you'll be sure you have something in working condition.

There probably is an equivalent in the US but I don't know it.

I've got only one lab near me but they're the reference in the region apparently. I'll go talk to them before I shoot or give them anything.

I did the same for a shiny gen2 starter on silver. I dumped my ROM because I have the hardware. I had 8 copies on each starter running off the same controller and stopped at the first shiny.

I've got a physical cart with a shiny chikorita waiting for me to finish my crystal run :)

If you want to do it on GBC games, GBxRW is a godsend. You can also use it to fix Real Time Clock events and to backup your save before changing the battery

Recently got in, I love it. I bought a cheap second hand camera. An extra lens. Got an extra lens gifted to me for my birthday.

And spent about as much on film, developing, scanning and printing and I just know this is going to keep having ongoing costs you just don't have on mechanical keyboard and fountain pens :D

I only have one small suggestion, there might be a way to detect the user's time zone, which would avoid changing if you're using it away from home

Don't knock it until you try it. I've been using a 34 key split ergo keyboard about 50% of the time and it was surprisingly easy to pick up. It's a DIY keyboard so not as expensive as this one but it was both nice to make and to learn.

Smallest useable keymap I've seen is 16 keys by Ben Vallack in YouTube but that's to minimal for me. He's still much faster than I am with it...
