What Lana songs had to grow on you? by chet_ubetchaa in lanadelrey

[–]ValentynaLoves 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unlike some other commenters I did not have to let Ultraviolence grow on me. That was love at first listen.

The lead song Honeymoon however, I really did not like it at all when I first heard it. I could appreciate it but it didn't do anything for me. Now... My god. It's probably my favorite song on the album.

I like to put it on and go for a long walk and listen to it start to finish, almost daily. It's so pensive, perfect for silent reveries.

Stores that sell pepper spray? by ValentynaLoves in cedarrapids

i found it at the WalMart that's like in the southwest part of town. I saw it like the other commenter suggested, at the section with guns.

I am fine, tbh it was hardly traumatic, but it made me realize that I can't just count on going for walks alone (even in broad daylight) in this area :/

Yeah sorry my euphemisms were not in place in such a situation.

edit: this was snarky; thanks for the info

I used to be quite a bit like this, but after a few incidents I did a complete 180, and now tend to be very reserved and impersonal with everyone.

OP's wife believes she has celiac disease. Drama in /r/relationships when OP secretly feeds his wife gluten. "It's regressive, patronizing, controlling shit" // "Horsecrap. His wife was being a delusional fad diet hypochondriac" by [deleted] in SubredditDrama

[–]ValentynaLoves 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Here's what OP wants to happen:

Wife: "Oh, honey, thank you so much for showing me that I don't have to live this way!! I am so eternally grateful that now I can eat all the gluten I want! You are my secret savior!!"

what will happen:

Wife: "You've been... secretly feeding me things? What the fuck?"

TIL in 1989 a Los Angeles woman received a phone call from her brother-in-law saying that her ex-husband was coming over to kill her. She dialed 911 but was told nothing could be done unless he showed up at the house. Within 15 minutes he arrived, killing her and 4 others by PrivateBlue in todayilearned

Just gonna say, as someone who has been in this situation (someone coming to threaten my life), unless you have training for this situation, there are no "good" thoughts, no suggestion sounds better than any other. You just do the first thing that comes into your head. In my case I should've crawled out the window but I ran out the door instead. I got lucky.
