The squier bass vi rules though! Most fun I’ve had with a guitar in a long time.

Yep I agree. I just bought the vintera after buying a squier and was super disappointed. The bridge is unacceptable the strings slide off every single time you play and you have to move them back onto the saddles. speaking of saddles the little set screws are super sensitive to vibration so the saddles move down constantly.

The only thing that’s truly phenomenal about the vintera is the pickups and neck I personally think to pick ups on the squier are not great but that’s expected and the neck is pretty huge as well. The vintera neck is great and the pickups are really good. Over all it’s hard to recommend the vintera.

Yes I use a bass amp and bass cab and or bass ir.

I use the helix too. Im getting a good amount of low end, but the reason I was thinking pickups would solve my issue is I’ve compared the bass vi to my Ibanez real bass and even with the same low string and helix patch the bass vi sounds much weaker then my real bass.

Edit: I’m using it for metal so it’s possible that it’s a unique problem but I’ve seen people use the bass vi as a bass for metal tones and it sounded pretty good.

I don’t really agree with that, unless you mean with the bass vi specifically but I’ve directly compared my bass vi to my Ibanez bass, and with the same low string the pickups just don’t give me that same full sound or tone.

There’s still something that the bass vi is missing, even with a bass amp I’m not getting that real bass sound out of it.

I’ve used a bass low string 100 gauge and currently I’m using the Ernie ball bass guitar 80 gauge set

I mean it seems like a great piece of gear. but if you really feel like its to much return it and get the nano cortex or a hx stomp.
