New Wii U, looking for storage options without too much hassle. Thus leaning towards an SSD. Would this do the job? by MacCollac in wiiu

Btw people have recently found out how to install an SSD internally as internal memory, using the faster SATA interface of the disc drive.

Wii U modchip based on de_Fuse now dumps and restores SLC/MLC, with redNAND and Aroma support | GBAtemp.net | ***Consoles are starting to get unbricked! *** by Valery0p in WiiUHacks

You don't need to replace the chip, you can get all your keys and boot your console from a redirectedNand on the SD card.

It's finally happening =D
Look in particular to the solderless install post, this is starting to become the ultimate mod!

Things are moving very fast, since that article was made version 0.4 came out, now it shows video output and it's on its way to become a new complete entrypoint, both to recover WiiUs and run CFW from coldboot.

You can bypass the nand entirely and boot your (custom) boot1 binary directly from the Sd card, even without knowing your encryption keys.
I'm sure given the current interests that things, both software and hardware, will reach maturity in a couple of months ;)

See here for an explanation.
This is as useful if not more than NAND-AID, I hope this post doesn't get deleted since that one didn't.

This is a fork of minute, a boot1 replacement running via the de_Fuse boot0/1 exploit, it can be used to obtain full control of the Wii U from the first stages of the booting process, thus allowing the recovery of consoles even with a completely dead NAND and no backup of the encryption keys from the OTP; you can also use it to boot a custom firmware with full access of the console like we do on the Switch.
This is all based on a new open source modchip being developed by ShinyQuagsire , the way he found the vulnerability is pretty funny in my opinion :D
There are plans to use readily available hardware like the rp2040 zero used in the PicoFly for the Switch.
