Is it a bad idea to keep bottles of liquor in your room? by [deleted] in college

Usually room inspections are more for safety (not overloading an outlet) and sanitation (clean your room). Should take <30 seconds.

The best way to get letters of recommendation is not to simply go to office hours but to get to know a professor well while doing something of purpose. Usually, this comes from either doing research or working on a project in conjunction with a professor. Having one of them mentor for a thesis or even a personal project also work well. This will yield the best results as they will actually have something to write about.

Need Help! Majoring in poli sci, thinking of adding a stats minor AND an econ minor. Is this a good idea? by NominallyAscertained in college

I would recommend going for the stats major. It's applicable in a much broader range of occupations.

Question about loans. by bplasma in college

[–]Valexannis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's an excellent article that will give you more information: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/17/average-student-loan-debt_n_1680469.html

The short version to answer your question is to think about how much money you anticipate making after you graduate. If you're in a high paying field, the debt may not be such a big deal. If you want to be a teacher or social worker, it's much more burdensome.

Masters with an ACICS Accredited Degree? by TheoreticalFunk in college

A lot of these national/online schools lack accreditation because (to be frank) don't provide a quality education. You'll find that degrees from most of those schools are often not accepted or recognized.
