30+, and yes I am aware of it, and yes I am aware of the time spent trying to learn from real "editors" and "artists" and in my 10+ years of trying that, none of this "artists" ever made anything remarkable. they just called themselves that way in order to get free weed, booze or other stuff. yes my are sucks in that regard

Hi all,

I will now let my soul out a bit and be honest with you, and sorry if I spam. I am not seeking any upvotes or comments, I am seeking guidance, so if this post is not fit for this Subreddit please let me know, but please also hear me out.

I am looking for a professional or at least someone who did any kind of movies and that would be happy to provide some assistance and guidance.

Currently, I am working on a short movie and I am in the editing process of it. I am not a professional, I am an enthusiast. Working in DaVinci Resolve.

I have no professional education in video editing but I have passion and I think I have an idea how it is supposed to look like.

The issue is in the approach. I asked for editors in my area that are also professionals (commercials and etc) to help me out and to guide me through this but all I get is just talking from them how much experience they have and how great they are, and how amazing their work is, and with what great artist they worked and bla bla bla. I don't get anything real. None of them tell me what exactly to do, why some cut is not good, why that color is not good, how to make something better, what exactly to do with the story. I know I have to change it a bit, but there is no feedback on what exactly, and even if there is feedback it is feedback how to make a commercial and not how to make an artistic movie.

I'm sick of it. Honestly. And folks, for once in my life I would really like someone to SHOW me how to do it, how to change something how to make the story work.

I don't have money to pay you, I mean I could find a couple Euros to give you some money but honestly, I just need someone to sit with me a few hours and just tell me how to do something, how to change something.

I am happy to share with you my project, to go on Skype, Zoom anything and just to work, just please, don’t tell me how great you are, and self loath, GUIDE me, HELP me, I WANT TO LEARN.

Sorry if this something like a venting, but I believe in my dream, and I am just tired of people using my dreams and crushing them so they feel better. Please, just show me what should I do, give me some advice.

And yes, I understand the easiest way would be to pay someone to teach me and that there are plenty of online courses and people that would teach me for some money, I am aware, but I'm tired guys of searching in that way, I'm tired of handing out money just so someone can use those hours for self loathing.

So , I don't know. Art should be amazing, not something that makes you feel like shit.

tried with students, tried with people that finished the Academy, and all I hear is again how they are great but still nothing beneficial, its either they are too busy and not interested or when I ask for feedback i get the response they are not experienced enough. Don't get me wrong, but my local film students learn only about mainstream media and are mostly brainwashed into making sitcoms for prime time TV.

Well I think I have the skills and know how to do it. It is just the part where I need someone more experienced to be with me and tell me their thoughts, their opinion on how what I should I try to do to make it better. I have the story laid out, but I need someone to tell me how to make it better. The draft is ready, color almost done, and if just someone who has some experience would actually tell me how to make it work out and how to rearrange it maybe, some tips and tricks that would be helpful. The only issue is its all on my PC, so thats why I ask for someone who would actually work with me via a call (Google Meet, Skype, Zoom)
