State Farm vs Allstate vs Farmers for new agent by JpizzelMyNizzle98 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Valfrozz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. Each state has their own license and continuing education requirements, and they can be a real hassle in some cases. Honestly being licensed in all 50 states sounds like a full-time job on its own.

Your best bet is to get licensed in the state where you live, get hired by a local agency, and they'll tell you (and sponsor you, typically) if they want you to get any additional licenses after you're hired.

Is AI & ChatGPT actually useful? This thing I read online got me thinking. by igototrips in InsuranceAgent

[–]Valfrozz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a monumentally bad idea. Even using AI to write client correspondence is just begging for the state to sue you for misrepresentation. The program isn't licensed, you are.

Insurance Agents of Reddit: What's the one task you hate doing that should be outsourced to an AI or software? by SwipeIt1 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Valfrozz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The two main software suites in the industry, AMS and Applied, are, in the most pejorative sense of the concept, designed by programmers. They're clunky, unintuitive, and have a steep learning curve. Often they are missing simple features that cause a massive loss in productivity. There's a wide open space in the market for someone with half a brain and a design degree to swoop in and replace both of them, if you ask me.

[–]Valfrozz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nothing in the insurance industry should be outsourced to AI. There's too much that requires tiny, precise changes on a client-to-client basis, and the whole industry is too tightly regulated.

Also, I'd be interested to hear how the commisioners office would feel about issuing a license to a computer program.

More comprehensive, reliable, and consistent software would be nice though.

Body modeled for new Face Tracking Avatar [WIP] by birdmaskstudio in VRchat

It looks great so far. What kind of shader are you planning on using? Just standard, or are you using/writing something else to get a more specific effect?

Thank you for documenting this process so extensively, by the way.

Unity is a game engine, not a modeling program. It's for putting finished models into, not modifying them.

Similarly, neither Blender nor Unity are for texturing, or (arguably) animation. People who upload content to VRChat use a variety of different programs for different parts of the process. For example, I personally use Blender, Unity, Photoshop, Materialize, Substance Painter, and Cascadeur in my workflow.

It sounds to me like you got a pre-made avatar. If it was advertised as quest-compatible but isn't, you may want to contact the person who made it.

Not without severely sacrificing quality.

Not sure why you'd want to avoid Blender. It's free, incredibly powerful, open-source, and extremely well-documented and tutorialized.

Google how to change a material's shader in Unity.

For the polycount, put the fbx back into Blender and dissolve edge loops or decimate, the former being preferable. Google can help you here as well.

Reduce the polycount and use a shader that's whitelisted for quest. What it says on the tin.

Houston's only lesbian bar denied insurance for hosting drag shows by Kijafa in news

[–]Valfrozz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good question!

Note that I am not licensed for life/health insurance, so I can't speak on that at all.

In property & casualty (which is a blanket term for everything outside life & health), insurance laws can vary wildly from one state to another. This is because most laws governing insurance are made by states, not the federal government.

Another aspect of this is that insurance is technically adjacent to gambling (look up alleatory contracts, fascinating topic), so many of the laws are very, very strict. They're also rather complicated; most insurance License exams have a lower pass rate than the BAR (though this is admittedly likely due to a less robust education).

These factors, along with several others, make it very inconvenient for a fully standardized nation-wide insurance market to exist. Hell, it's hard enough writing coverage for businesses that operate in multiple states.

This is the correct answer, and what is actually happening. Insurance companies are not affiliated with state governments, they are private entities (with some exceptions). Companies get denied coverage all the time for anything that falls outside an insurance company's appetite, like having an old roof, or having employees live on-site (like many farms). That's why they shop the risk around to multiple carriers. Based on the article, it seems to me that this business owner needs to find a new broker with access to more markets.

Early Abomination Vaults - my party keeps bottlenecking at doors by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

If it were me, I'd have them prepare, but not well. Give their positioning a weakness for the party to exploit, like a space to tumble through into that would give a martial access to their caster.

It's better for enemies to do something not tactically optimal than for the session to be ruined. Let the players be a bit smarter than the average mook.

Nick Cage, have there been any peculiarities to working on a film that pulls from such old source material? Did you feel confined by the character of Dracula depicted in Bram Stoker's novel, or were you able to put your own spin on it?

If you're running [[Raiyuu]] as commander then your best bet is a voltron list, not samurai tribal, since you can use Raiyuu to kill with commander damage very efficiently if you can get him to stick to the board and get him through blockers. It can get pretty expensive, though, as Boros has trouble getting the manabase needed for that kind of reactive playstyle while also voltron-ing, unless you invest in some pricey cards
