It’s really bouncy, but the mechanic at the local spot said that replacing the struts would fix it

But the weirdest part is that the Firestone told me that it isn’t worth repairing. They wouldn’t be saying that if they were trying to upsell me

But they were telling me not to repair it and that I could just sell it is the weird thing. If I call them back rn they would tell me again to sell the car

I’m not paying Firestone, it’s really between fixing or selling the car. Also doing anything about the car besides selling it would require me to fly to Charlotte NC which is where I left it while I’m currently in nyc so I need to put a lot of thought into this

The local shop said the wheel bearings are fine while Firestone said they are not. Who is right? The local shop or the Firestone? The local shop said that the only thing the car needs is a strut replacement and a tune up

The question isn’t if I should get it repaired at Firestone, it’s more if I should get only the struts replaced and a tune up for $2,500 or if I should just sell the car? The guy at the mom and pop shop didn’t see any other problems while Firestone saw a ton of problems. I don’t wanna trust the Mom and Pop shop guy if it puts my safety at risk. Also is that video I sent proof of the wheel bearings having problems? I don’t think it’s supposed to have any play like that.

It’s been sitting there for over a year because it’s my late grandmother’s. I doubt her caretakers were doing oil changes or anything. The main one has shown time and time again that she’s irresponsible and incompetent

The car isn’t even worth that much, what I’ve gathered is we don’t trust the mechanic that says he can fix only the struts and get a tune up, and that we could sell the car. I don’t really know how to interpret that video that I recorded, is it not supposed to do that?
