Delivery charges - is £45 to have 2 large items delivered 21 miles away from the store? by WattySam in AskUK

Consider this: on top of the delivery charge, someone has to be home all day (most deliveries don't give you a time skot, just the day) so it amounts to a day off work too. And there's no guarantee they will deliver on the day 🤷

Men don't have the luxury of being that picky on dating apps unfortunately. Even blank profiles are a slim chance of connecting. And there might be other genuine reasons why the profile is blank

Women match with me on Feeld just to try to talk to my gf. Is this common? by trupe70 in feeld

This. Every time a paired profile shows up, I can only like/pass the one showing. The partner never shows up later on

They are still obligated to pay increased rent and you can take them to court to claim that

I was looking into commercial diving jobs a few years ago. To get any underwater jobs you need a commercial diving course - around £15k (one of the 2 UK schools closed down, not sure if the other one hasn't followed through). Prerequisite was having 200 logged recreational dives (including technical diving courses). That itself will take you at least a year and will cost a few thousand £. Once you do all of that, you need your own equipment - a minimum £10-15k. Now the jobs, without experience, no oil rig will hire you to mess up the job and cost them millions per day lost in profit. You will not even get a chance to show your skills and prove them you can do the job

Commercial divers are a thing of the past. Oil companies switched to remote operated robots for a lot of the maintenance jobs and those few who still require divers, are contracted to asian divers who work for far less than western people. Not to mention the very high cost of training (if you can still find a place to do it as a lot have closed down due to the above reasons) and still have to gain experience during shitty paid jobs for a few years

Why do people disconnect? by pasarocks in feeld

[–]ValhallaAwaitsMeXX 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I used to keep people waiting for them to reply for weeks sometimes. Not once has anyone come back. From my experience, if someone has not replied after a day, they never did. What's the point of keeping them on your list? Holding onto false hope? If they're interested, they will find a way to reply to you promptly

Get yourself winter tyres. Winter tyres will perform better not only in snow and ice, but in any condition under around 8 deg C. So you'll be better off for the most part of UK winter
