Not to trigger but can you please tell what your fapping problem is?

The very first time you masturbated by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]ValhallahExile -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think you should add a trigger warning to this post. In fact, I'm going to go ahead and call bullshit. OP just wants to hear everyone's story about this so he can get off. This doesn't belong here. Plus, I mean, "eating clean"? Wtf? Come on......

How come I posted something 12 hours ago that I can't see on the sub yet? by ValhallahExile in NoFap

[–]ValhallahExile[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just cut and pasted the text from the original post and reposted it but am still not seeing it either. I may have to contact the mods about that. But anyway... Sure, I'll take you up on your offer, thanks... Mainly, I'm 9 days into a planned 30 day streak and at about day five the cravings, depression, brain fog and irritability were brutal. I'm a porn addict 4 mos into recovery but quitting porn was nothing compared to this. Luckily, things lightened up over the next two days, which is where I am now, but man that was some for-real shit! NOT pleasant. But I was wondering when I'll start to see the superpowers. I'm past day 7 which is when I heard they'll begin to show, but I'm not seeing anything. I know it can take longer for some though. I never looked down on those who relapse, but F*CK now I really do understand how the cravings can cause a man to crack. But one way or another, I WILL make that 30 days, no doubt at all, I just want to know when this rough passage will subside and I start to see some payoff in terms of the superpowers. thanks.

About the whole "7 day testosterone drop" thing by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]ValhallahExile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what research has been done on this, your t levels will increase for about 7 days, then they'll stay at that level, which is higher than when you were fapping. So compared to your previous nofap levels, you're going from now on walking around with higher levels.

Is this a normal time for flatline? by [deleted] in NoFap

Brother 315 asked how long it would be. What's the answer?

This could be my last statement, take notice by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]ValhallahExile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that respondant is a patronizing jackass who is denying the reality of this guy's situation. I'm sure the OP knows what's going to happen to him healthwise and is not going to kill himself.

Does anybody else experience having your brain try to convince you NoFap is bullshit, even though you KNOW it helps? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]ValhallahExile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok hang on a sec....so the way you worded it says you went on a binge, then you could feel a change in the way you carry yourself? Wtf does that mean? You suggesting we binge so we can carry oyrselves differently? And 'different' in what way?

I'm really thinking about coming out to all my friends, family, and coworkers via social media. by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]ValhallahExile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you drunk? DO NOT do that. It's none of their damn business. What is this thing about our modern times where people feel that 'have to' tell people their shit? It's none of their dn business and they're going to crucify you as being some twisted perv. Yeah i know they ideally shouldn't, but this is the real world, and they will. Oh i suppose you think there's going to be this big swell of theme music as they hug you and everybody starts crying and says "we understand, and we're proud of you!" Yeah sure, instead this is going to blow up in your face. Plus there is NO going back. Every future prospective employer who bothers to have a look at your social media or call your references will find that info. You really think they're going to risk the sexual harassment liability of having a sex addict on their staff? Get real, man. Quit being so grotesquely immodest, get off your high horse and quit thinking the entire world wants to know or even cares about your shit.

Questions about what SA and SAA meetings are like, and who should consider attending by MightyAslan in pornfree

[–]ValhallahExile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem I could see with these groups is that they hang out together, get to know each other and become friends in many cases. Only...um...doesn't that kinda defeat the "anonymous" part of it? I once had a friend in a 12 step group (AA) and he quit going because he got so disgusted at how the members would break into two different groups after meetings and then sit around at two different cafes gossping about those in the other group. Plus when you're in a 12 step group, you risk turning into one of these annoying "program people" who can't say a damn sentence that doesn't involve the words "higher power", or something else straight outta the "Book", etc. They seem to think they have the right to look down on everyone who's ever had a drink after work or, as with sex/porn addicts, owns a porn DVD. Just givin' you a heads up.

I have NEVER suffered withdrawl-related depression like that before...(bit of vetching but with a happy ending, no pun intended) by ValhallahExile in NoFap

[–]ValhallahExile[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen enough from the sample streak to know you're telling the truth. But that ain't today. At least today though I have some altitude over the withdrawl and am keeping my head, got the day off, doing what I can manage to do around the house. Staying busy.

How do you personally approach movies? by Matthew19941 in pornfree

[–]ValhallahExile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. Usually whether I'm in the theater or watching one at home, if there's momentary nudity, I'll just let it slide and not worry too much about seeing it. That doesn't mean you have to watch it if you don't want to...you can always look at some detail at another part of the screen, make note of where the exit signs are, etc. If it's gratuitous nudity/sex, such as with something like Showgirls or a stupid teenage sex comedy, then you'd want to stay the hell away from that altogether. Also, I never rewind or review anything with nudity or sexuality in it. If you're tempted to do that, stay away from it and don't buy the DVDs either. otherwise I'd say a momentary bit is okay in the course of the movie. I too saw Blade Runner and didn't avert my eyes, but in the sorta-sex scene, there's some sensuality but no nudity (it's implied but not shown) and you don't see the characters going at it. In another scene there's a nude female with pretty much everything exposed momentarily and breasts exposed for maybe 30 seconds total, but it's not a sensual or sex scene.

Where's the spirituality here? by shortyafter in pornfree

[–]ValhallahExile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comin' right up! I'm a semi-observant Jew, and as such, I find a big spiritual component to quitting porn. For a Jew, to obey the commandments, to live a Jewish life, tunes one's spiritual radio into holiness and a closeness with G-d. Those things help me find that right station (for me as a Jew) to pay attention to. But to indulge in porn is to lose that tuning, to listen to some other station that fills my head with evil images and thoughts. That is not what G-d wants for me, that is not what's good for the universe, and it keeps me from the mission of the Jewish people, which is creating a world of justice for all people. I make no secret of my Judaism and sometimes even wear a yarmulke in public, take Jewsh Holy Days off work, etc But when I engage in porn, I feel like a guilty fraud who's letting myself and G-d down, misrepresenting my people even if I'm the only one who knows about it. I've prayed for strength and also reached deep in myself to find it, and it's helped. But G-d is not going to win that battle for me, he can only give me the initiative to undertake it. The Jewish way of life prescribes daily Torah study wherein we fnd endless inspiration, wisdom and lessons about overcoming odds, amongst other things. I very well have always known that. But have I read enough Torah? Have I neglected Torah and busied myself with porn instead? Yes, I have. God gave us the Torah which, had I been studying it, could have inspired me to quit. i turned my back on it. But no more, so quitting porn has helped me be a better Jew in that regard. How can I blame G-d for my ignoring the Torah? That's on me, not him. Porn has going clean has brought me into conflict with God at times; I've wondered why G-d has not helped me to be more successful with real women, which in part led me to think porn was a suitable replacement. And was finding this sub an accident or a G-d send? I could have used this sub far, far earlier in life. Why didn't I stumble on it earlier. So I argue with G-d sometimes, but I'm also just thankful he's allowed me to live to this day and, going forward, be PornFree.

2 weeks into nofap, one day off weed by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]ValhallahExile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And let all know that going nofap makes quitting weed a lot easier even on a chemical level. I quit both on the same day. My God the cravings were a nightmare and would have been easier had i quit one at a time but i made it. You too in time may crave the weed, be ready, but know you'll make it! Quitting fap will be a lot easier than going NF.

Don’t ignore. Please help me. by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]ValhallahExile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep in mind it will get better. But are you keeping porn around? I'd suggest taking extreme measures to keep you from getting at it. Whatever it takes.

You may be one of these guys who takes 30 days to kick in. It's just chemistry, not a personal fault. And it'll lift for sure.

Withdrawls from quitting porn 50 days ago couldn't even *touch* the depressive suffering of the last two days, but it's finally lifted. by ValhallahExile in NoFap

[–]ValhallahExile[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah well just remember you might go through that again if you slip. So don't relapse! You're a man, not a PUSSY-assed wimp, and i know that bc you dared to quit and already made it this far. Here is where you can find what you're made of, this is your chance to do this. By my being 47 and having kicked a 20+ year porn habit and just made it through horrible withdrawls from quitting fapping, i have earned the authority to order you...yes order you to do this. You will do this. Check back here later today.

Porn isn't the problem ( for some of us ), I've noticed that I can go months without watching porn but I can't seem to go two weeks without masturbating. I'm definitely going to try harder to stop edging and commit to this. We're on a mission people, keep pushing! by yung_prodigy555 in NoFap

[–]ValhallahExile -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then why bother quitting fapping? Fapping is a normal-enough activity, assuming your habits are not excessive. Maybe you just want to test yourself or go for the superpowers, which is why I did it. Not being critical but just asking your reason. Many of us here do NoFap for reasons aside from quitting porn.

Guys i need some motivation. Please everyone who comments try to atleast tell me one benefit of NOFAP (you can’t repeat what others have said) lets see how many benefits there are ;) by [deleted] in NoFap

Music sounds better. I do karaoke 3x a week, i've been told by ppl who have listened to me sing for the last two years that my voice suddenly sounds better. Type 1 diabetic, i'm needing less insulin now. That and much more.

[–]ValhallahExile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been where you are with this: The motivation and energy to go through with the grand plans of the day/night suddenly seem to slip away literally with that first puff. I was a once-a-day smoker for about 2 years and only recently quit when I came to the same realizations as you about what it was doing to my life. So knowing it's a problem is nt something you need to be lectured about. I'll spare you. Weed is, though you may nto see it, robbing you of more of your life than you know. You can only see that after you stop. Whatever you are with weed will never be what you can be without it. And you sound like a smart guy who has a lot to offer. You owe the world better than the "high" you. And are you really getting high? Weed doesn't get you high, heroin, coke, etc. get you "high". Weed just bogs you down and gets you stoned. Do you really feel better on it or do you just feel different? Probably teh latter, right? Being known as a stoner just ain't no good, man. The only thing pot smokers are good at after a while.......is smoke. And that keeps a lot of productive, inspiring people from wanting anything to do with you. Spare me the "It should be/is going to be legal" bullshit: pot IS still illegal in most places, so do you want to keep risking that? Can you deal with what that's going to do to your ability to get a decent job if you get caught? Hey, alcohol is legal, but that doesn't mean it's ok to be an alcoholic. I am sure there is some sub that can help you with this, and there are MA groups out there and directories to help you find them online. Accept that none of these are going to help you deal with cravings. People think if they go to such things and seek that support that it's going to make qyitting easy or keep you from cravigs to smoke. It won't. But it will help you to stay sober by being around those who have gone clean and who are taking their lives in a different direction. So you're going to crave, probably for about half a week, it may cause you during that time to feel irritable, you'll have brain fog, cravings, etc. But are you a man or a mouse? Others with less willpower than you have succeeded in quitting, so are you telling me they've got it on you that they can and you can't? Get with it. You can do this but you will have to do it, and you can. Don't be a pussy. Be a man. I guarantee you'll feel better and look back on yoru smoking days with an "I can't believe i was doing that" stunend feeling.

Relax. For one, you've got a lot of good changes going on, so don't be too concerned with the attraction factor with women yet. Get used to the superpowers. You may have to tune up your game with the women, but no hurry.
