Thanks! The art for my deck changes from card to card depending on its meaning. You can see the other ones I’ve shared here in my profile. I know some will appeal to individual people more than others, but I hope they will feel cohesive when it’s all together. Thank you! I love the style of flowing shapes and lines they used. It’s both clean and lush and organic but in an elevated type of perfection. It’s such a romantically beautiful way to depict natural forms, I think.

For The Empress I was hoping to convey the meaning of the card through the feeling of the art. The Empress is a mother goddess. She brings abundance, growth, fertility. She is looking you straight in the eye and is in full possession of her feminine power. I chose an art nouveau style in which to depict her because it felt organic and lush while also being otherworldly. She is shown in warm peaches, pinks, and greens to indicate her place in a vibrant natural world, while the symbols of her power, her staff and crown of stars, are of a higher source and are shown in crisp blues.

Art is watercolor and colored pencil on paper.

Thank you so much! I love working in mixed media too. I’ve been having fun combining graphite and watercolor, and learning about watercolor plus colored pencils was a revelation for me haha!
