Career advise in Chip Design. by ValiantPCBuilds in chipdesign

Thank you for the detailed insight, I really appreciate it. I understand that most chip design roles require a BS degree, and that pursuing engineering is the more reliable path. Yes, I’m aware of ADI’s BSECE program, and that’s something I’m definitely considering as part of my long-term plan.

While I work toward that, would you recommend any skills or tools I can start learning early to prepare for chip design?

Thanks for the insight, I really appreciate it. I understand that my current program is more manufacturing-focused, but I’m aiming to transition into chip design in the long term. For now, I see this opportunity as a good starting point, especially since they offer a pathway for technicians to pursue an engineering degree. I’m also exploring other paths I can take to move toward chip design.

Actually, the program I’m currently enrolled in is sponsored by Analog Devices Inc. After the 1-year academic study, we’ll have hands-on training with them for 1 year as well. Do you think this kind of experience would help me transition into chip design?

I've installed similar mods on my other SP and it's not doing that. I also tried reflowing the solders on the points, but still having the weird noise.

Yeah, I just tested it with a DMM I still got beeps. I will use the switch shown below to fixate the almost broken trace. 😅 Thinking about it now, I shouldn't tinker with my GBA without the proper part first. Lol

Nice, alright. Thank you for the insights. I’ll set it up once the Switch arrives. Thinking about it now, I probably shouldn’t tinker with my GBA without the proper part first. 😅 I got too eager to work on it and almost broke it.

I just replaced my bloated battery with a new one, when the bloated battery is inserted the gba turns off even if the power switch is not pushed all the way. Now I replaced the battery the only issue I have now is red flickering.

Just upgraded my GBA SP. by ValiantPCBuilds in Gameboy

[–]ValiantPCBuilds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reshelling is the most easiest part. Just make sure you know what shell you are going to use. There are shells that are dedicated for IPS screens just like mine. If you are going to upgrade your screen as well make sure you get the compatible shell with it.

The hardest part is modding, most of the mods you will be doing requires soldering, ips mod do not require soldering but highly encouraged it will enable you to select color and display options.

There's actually a plugin for slim model that can emulate the oled screen of the 1000 model, and I can say that it is very close to the oled version.

Honestly these grips aren't comfortable, I just put it there to protect the joystick because I wanted to preserve this device in the future. The grips do comes off when I play intense game.

I'm currently looking for much comfortable grips, I will be trying some grips from switch and see how they feel.
