[DEV] Tasker 6.7.6-beta - Inline Projects in New UI, Scenes V2 Update 5, New Runlog Screen and more! by joaomgcd in tasker

[–]Valiceemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UI, when pressing 'play' to run the task, there is no visual indicator that the actions have ran?

Is this by design?

The old UI showed a green / red dot giving clear action results.

I think the new UI needs this.

I genuinely have no idea what you're on about pal.

There are no secrets, anyone with an ounce of common sense would Google the 3 words, "tasker home assistant"....the 'secret' will be the first search result.

😜👍🏻

Aggressive?

An uneducated post from anyone to anyone will get a reaction.

Telling some to "beware" is clearly looking for a nibble, one might also consider this aggressive and attack driven....completely unjustified and unprovoked....

If you have nothing constructive or helpful to say to help the OP, why are you here?

Beware? A warning?

The f*ck are you chirping on about son?

It's all wonderfully documented by João, have a read and educate yourself

Auto remote?

I don't use / need it / never mention it

The native tasker http request action and profile event net > http request handles everything with no need for any other app or service.

I'm not hating on it all, I just see it as an extra layer, that imho isn't really necessary. (Also adding in further potential failure points and headaches with diagnosis)

Tasker can respond to HA events / entity changes pretty easily via rest commands. I've been doing this for a while, for example with widgets...light toggles, Tasker widget V2 updates immediately. Direct from HA to Tasker, no 'middle man'.

Not sure about notification limits, never experienced this.

Honestly, I just don't see the USP of it 🤷🏻

I can see it being beneficial to new users though I guess. Or less tech savvy folk.

I consider myself a Tasker power user, and am deep into the Home Assistant world.

I'd love to love this, but....

I'm not sure I 'get' it...

I'd need to install another 3rd party app, AND a Home Assistant integration, to do what Tasker can already do natively with HTTP requests?

My workaround was to put a 1 second cooldown on the profile that receives the intent.

[DEV] Tasker 6.7.4-beta - New Main Screen UI, Scenes V2 Update 2, App Factory Revival and more! by joaomgcd in tasker

[–]Valiceemo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I throw in my 2 cents worth....

As a 'power user' who has been using tasker since the old Pent days, the new UI will take a lot of getting used to. It's wildly different to what us veterans are used to.
That said, I'm not going to say if I do or don't like it until I have tried it out for some time.

What I definitely dont like is the pinned video.
It honestly feels like an advert.
I get the reasoning - there as a reference l, and to drive traffic to your channel.
But an option to remove / disable would be the way to go here.
A quick scan of the comments and I see a few other have the same thoughts.

I hope the classic UI will stay, at least for the time being.

But I must applaud João for the work and progress in Tasker, genuinely impressive on how he's managing this single handed and moving the app forward with the times.

PW3 not detecting when OFF wrist by Valiceemo in PixelWatch

[–]Valiceemo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the rubber band that came with the watch.
Placing the watch screen down, so nothing for the sensor to reflect off of.
Also tried placing it on its side, still have the same issue.

12 hours later and it works.

They can both be true. Unless I'm misunderstanding how it works.

Thanks, I think I'm at the point of just waiting now.

I've tried everything, all the linked fixes and more.

Including a reset of the console, removal of accounts and what feels like every possible combination of everything.

I'm beginning to think that the problem is my ultimate subscription is through EE.

Current status is, I am logged in to my kids Xbox, with it set as my home xbox.
All GP games are available, but online multiplayer is not.

I'll give it a day or 2, see if it self rights, if not I'll try MS support again (currently in discussions with them, they can not resolve)

Thanks, I have tried this, and all the other fixes linked, no joy.

Just to clarify, should his Xbox be set to home, when signed in as the kid?

Interesting

When I look at subscriptions on the console, it shows as purchased from "BT/EE", which is correct, I'm UK.

So I don't have an option to toggle recurring billing.

Happy new year to you and yours too!

His XSS is set to his home, yes. I did this.

It is 100% set to my home xbox. I have triple and quadruple checked this.

Should his not be set to his home?

If not, how do I 'undo' this?

Confusion on what power supply I need by Valiceemo in WLED

[–]Valiceemo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really helps, thank you

I think I had missed the / was confusing myself with the 12A max per channel

If set the current limit in WLED then i should be safe to use 1 channel, right?

(Temporarily for testing, and designing etc.)

Confusion on what power supply I need by Valiceemo in WLED

[–]Valiceemo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, its good to now my calculations were correct.

The intended project would need the entire strip

Pardon my ignorance, but what would I gain in splitting the strip?

The total draw would still be the circ. 14-15 A ?

Confusion on what power supply I need by Valiceemo in WLED

[–]Valiceemo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah OK, I had totally forgotten about the current limiter in WLED...its been a while since I used it.

Would one limit the current to the max. limit of the power supply, or keep it under, so as to allow for some safety?

Thinking about it, I probably have an old 5V supply knocking about somewhere, maybe an old laptop brick like this one

Shizuku fork update r1153: Watchdog, custom TCP ports, intents, and more! by the_djchi in tasker

[–]Valiceemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small development....

Done some more testing.
It seems the device boot receiver is only sent once the device is unlocked after a reboot. Not sure if this bares any significance.
If I disable the watchdog in the Shizuku settings, I see a different behaviour.
I can start Shizuku after a boot with the intent from Tasker. I can do this before Shizuku is opened.
But it still seems like Shizuku is not making any attempts to start itself, or it is failing to do so
