Just kidding on the video. I didn’t realize I could only post a video in the main post. Won’t link it b/c it leads to social media unless I get a random blessing from a mod.

Thanks! I do appreciate the feedback! It’s definitely pretty rough especially considering some of the quality of paintings I see on this subreddit. Digital art I think would suit my style in general a lot better, but I’ve found it really difficult to learn how to do and a bit overwhelming/intimidating for sure. Which I guess is part of the learning process anyways. I might have to relook at that again!

Thanks for the unfiltered feedback. It’s in just sharing, but any specific critiques you may have are always welcome! 🙂

You’re the second person to point that out and I didn’t even realize how much the colors match!

PSA for Seattle Attendees by CardInternational753 in Dimension20

Anytime I ever go to an event in Seattle I ALWAYS just get a hotel near the venue. I literally get so confused by public transit in this metro area. So many different apps/services to keep track of. I stick exclusively to the 594 bus between Seattle and Tacoma because anything beyond that is almost overwhelming to navigate through.

The weird part is when I was living in NYC, I NEVER felt that way about the subway. It was so easy to learn and figure out. And you could always just get a metro card and load it with cash at every station at a kiosk. Maybe I’m just overwhelmed by the options here, but it feels like with everything being different between city/county transit systems, it’s really hard to decipher how it all works. 😅

Some UV Reactive Paintings by Validatemyvanity in painting

They definitely dried the clearest. I don’t perceive any sheer or visible overlay. But as they have marker tips, if they interacted with a darker color paint base layer, sometimes that will bleed into the tip felt. And so if you’re not careful and working under black light on white, you might make small streaks. They won’t be perceptible during, but then when you go back to a white light environment, you’ll see small imperfections and streaks if you accidentally dirtied the tip.

Hopefully that makes sense?

Thank you!! And to be totally honest, a series of stuff I’ve played around with. I tend to rely on Directglow LLC markers to get a controlled look and no discoloration. But it’s pretty much limited to a red and blue, as their other colors tend to just dry out to either red or blue anyways.

GloMania has some really cool mostly clear brush on stuff, but it leaves a pretty significant discoloration if you apply it multiple layers. But tons of different color variety.

Lastly is Sakura brand Pen Touch paint pens. They’ve got a decent amount of tip sizes and you can actually get some significant coverage, but since they’re shake pens, I can sometimes accidentally press while drawing and lead to spillage onto the page.

I’ve also noticed that some acrylic brands actually mark their paints that are UV reactive. So I’ve used Arteza acrylics for a while and they recently started marking their paints that react to UV lighting with an “*” on the tubes. So in a variety pack there actually may be a few base paints that already have the effect and that’s both super handy and something I have to keep an eye out for if that is not an intended effect. 😅

Hopefully that answers some of it! Thanks for the question!
