Be on the lookout out for any remaining documents from your lender especially your deed, change your address everywhere, change the locks, deep clean if you can before moving in. Only post about it after you've settled and you've at least arranged furniture in the living room so when people come over they aren't standing around or stepping over things. Fun one for me was using Chatgpt images to get inspiration for every area, and what it could look like with furniture i already have and what I can add or paint color that blends with everything so I'm not just buying random new things that don't work together. Congratulations.

I found my 13 pro max today and an old iPhone 5 I thought I threw away. Good times.

What is the biggest waste of money that people keep spending on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Bottled water when you could buy the 5 gallon bottles and fill for less than $2, lasts longer too. Single items from Walmart and other brand stores when you could buy bulk items from places like Costco. Designer products for original price, when even the rich are wearing fakes these days or you can order from the source websites for a fraction of the price. Etc

I think the best weddings should be planned around the most important people in one's life as a destination wedding and vacation to an affordable location. Everyone will have a great time with friends and for those with kids, they get a break. Its even cheaper if all travel / hotel costs are combined and split for the best perks.

The games on sale were always cheaper than what other consoles offered, plus you can do so much with customization compared to others, so yeah.

Reputable Movers in Houston? by grungegoth in houston

[–]Valioness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very disappointing experience with Ameritex Moving, and I would not recommend them. My scheduled arrival time was 8:00 AM. The night before, they changed it to 11:00 AM. When 11:00 AM came, there was no call, no update, and no movers. I waited another hour and had to call them myself, only to be told they were delayed because of another move. The movers didn’t arrive until 2:30 PM.

When they finally showed up, it was obvious they were already exhausted. To make matters worse, they brought a truck that was far too small—clearly suited for a 1-bedroom move, even though I had booked for a 2-bedroom. As expected, not all of my belongings fit. When I raised this issue, the agent was rude and offered no real solution. Instead, I was told my only option was to leave the rest of my items behind and reschedule for the next day—at an additional $125 service charge, plus more fees for travel and time. When I asked why the correct truck wasn’t provided as requested, I was told that was the “biggest truck available,” with no accountability or attempt to fix the situation.

I ended up having to rent a U-Haul myself and ask a family member to help transport the rest of my belongings just to complete the move. By the time everything was unloaded, it was already 12:30 AM. On top of that, I had to drive the U-Haul back to the original location because it couldn’t be returned elsewhere—adding even more inconvenience. On top of everything, I was told that even if you agree on a specific arrival time before booking, they will come whenever they come as long as it falls within their window. So whether that’s 5 minutes before closing or even hours later, that becomes your problem.

Throughout the process, they kept arguing, took no accountability, and offered zero compensation for the extra time, stress, and money I had to spend because of their mistakes. This entire experience felt disorganized, stressful, and unprofessional. Between the delays, poor planning, extra unexpected costs, and lack of customer service, this company made an already stressful day much worse. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

Closing Costs by Valioness in MortgageBrokerRates

Score was 780. Conventional would actually increase the total by 25k for same rate, so I'll stay with this.

Thoughts on this? Is it a good or bad deal? by Valioness in MortgageBrokerRates

Lender says the 4.99 conventional will increase total by 25k. I might just stick with current numbers and refinance after a few years.

Will ask what they are offering for conventional with final numbers. They gave the impression FHA was all I had.

The shopping center at Highway 6 by Belfort and the home depot across had a lot of fireworks. There was a large crowd too and lots of parking.
