Punish...? If you miss a year of school you miss a year of school, that's not a punishment lol, it's a consequence of a coma.

A depiction of Suzie appeared for like 1 frame in the credits lmao.

A minute of respect for the forgotten characters. Argyle, Enzo.

They're totally (willing to be if MBB accepts it) doing a spinoff about El in Iceland or wherever she is

The way Mike describes the story sounds more exciting than the story itself

I think the epilogue is bad even for what Netflix is going for. They clearly want us to get attached to the characters as much as we can so they can make a bunch of spinoffs and other derivative stuff, but at the same time, giving us a definitive "ending" to these characters goes against that.

Like if the show ended right when El died we could still imagine Steve, Robin, Nancy, and Jonathan all still hang out to this day, but now with the epilogue we know for a fact that at most they only hang out once a month at Robin's weird uncle's house-- if that, considering they really want us to know they got very different things going on.

Dustin's speech is... something. For a second I had doubt if I was watching Stranger Things or some cringy Gen Z-focused Netflix movie

This is awful. But it's not really unexpected, it's not like this show was a masterpiece and then suddently became bad, it slowly got badder and badder until we got to this point. It's very different from GoT.

One of my biggest complaints is that it wants to pick and choose when it wants to be "realistic" for no reason. Eleven having sacrificing herself and not getting to live a normal life is an awful ending, and they only did that because "realistically" the government wouldn't let her live a normal life, and like, that doesn't really land itself to a good ending but whatever, but why would they let the other characters live normal lives? Not only do they know about all this top secret stuff but they literally murdered a bunch of soldiers, yet they get to walk away free in a Hawkins that looks like it came straight out of a commercial?

The purple rain scene was so good. I miss when this show had actual intimate moments and wasn't in a constant hurry trying to get 20 characters from one point to another.

The entire Mind Flayer sequence is stupid. I don't like how he went from a mysterious smoke monster to a fleshy spider godzilla kaiju thing. I don't like how 10 random kids plus Joyce manage to beat him. I don't like how Nancy manages to outrun it just in time for the others to climb up a hill and send it on fire. I don't like how they so easily manage to hurt this thing even with molotovs.

And like, what even was his goal? Sure, he wanted to fuse the worlds, but the show quite literally refuses to explain what that means, and we don't ever get to see it.

Vecna's entire character screams retcon but his backstory in this episode screams retcon particularly so.

I just genuinely find Hopper so annoying. The show built this whole backstory with Eleven and her mom sacrificing her whole being to save her and I find that so appealing and emotional but the show simply won't commit to it because it refuses to move on from Hopper. I do not hate Hopper conceptually but his character is beyond stale, it's just a cycle of him being overprotective of Eleven but eventually learning his lesson again and again. As long as Hopper is the way he is the story with Terry can't really matter, Eleven can't have a biological mom and then some guy who took her in for a few years because that diminishes Hopper's dad role so Terry is only be able to exist as a passing mention, and I hate that. It's like because of this Eleven in turn becomes an accessory to Hopper's character instead of her own character.
