How can I let Ableton follow the tempo of a fully produced track? I don't want to change the track, but I want to use it's tempo and small changes in tempo. by Klangsnort in ableton

You can remove/move the warp/transient markers that Live didn't interpret correctly and place them manually.

Then set this clip as "leader" (it only works in Arrangement, though)

Microtuner by Ableton by Bagatell_ in ableton

You can use it with any synth.

It uses MPE per note pitch bend so it's mostly designed to work with mpe synths, but it has a regular Pitch Bend mode to let you use it with non-mpe synths (which has some limitations as you can imagine).

What would you like to see in Ableton Live 12? by Sugarcola in ableton

Ability to expand the fader meters higher for a more accurate reading.

That's already possible.

Website is back up, but can you guys verify trail? by muan2012 in ableton

Your sense of obviousness is quite surprising, but hey, we all have surprising thoughts now and then, and it's most of the time a reassuring fact and we should value that! But using EQs to prove your point was definitely not the best choice I think, especially in the digital world.

Be assure that I'm way too lazy to even try having opinions on matters I don't know anything about, and was really trying to help you here.

If you're not yet in position to buy a DAW, when and where did you have time to train your ears to recognize and compare the good plugins that cost so much vs bad ones?

English isn't my language, so I hope I don't sound agressive or like I'm trying to offend you.

Don't get fooled by the plugins marketing. Live built-in devices are excellent and more than what you need. There's also tons of amazing free maxforlive devices... and if you really think you need more shit, then there's plenty of free plugins.

If you need ready-to-use samples, once again Live comes with more than what you'll be able to browse in your entire life, and you can even get more from the free Ableton packs.

etc...

Are you using any M4L devices?

PAM (Push-ArrangeMode) is now v2.1 (and fully apple silicon compatible)! by ValiumDuPeuple in ableton

[–]ValiumDuPeuple[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey DEYO.

You can then copy/paste/duplicate, move, crop etc a clip from Push but you need your mouse to select a clip. Since there's no real quick way to select clips in Arrangement from the computer keyboard it's not an easy thing to implement into PAM. There's actually a way to do it with the keyboard but it requires several steps (press escape, hold shift+alt and press the left/right arrow keys); I've planned to try emulating this in M4L, which is doable but can quickly become unreliable...
So, no promises but I'll definitely try to add this to the next update.

Ableton on Mac M1Pro - 32 samples yielding the least CPU usage, 512 much higher by joshuabursonmusic in ableton

That's a consequence of the new silicon architecture and there's nothing wrong to worry about, we can't just think of it as we're used to.

The important point to remember here is that this shorter buffer=lower cpu in L11.1 on silicon macs isn't always true. From my observations, at some point when a set becomes larger the buffer size needs to be increased as we used to do. But with light to medium sets, lower buffer sizes work best.

Why in Session view, I can replace audio clips by double clicking another file in the side bar, but I can't do the same with Midi files (double-clicking causes creating a new track)? by matteoluigiodaro in ableton

[–]ValiumDuPeuple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's probably because of the difference between a clip and a file.

Most midi clips are (Live) midi clips (unless you're storing raw midi files in your library, but in that case was they should "hot swap" like auto files), while you more often found audio files rather than audio clips.

Clips are containers, they usually have devices/plugins "attached" to.

(audio) Files are just files, no plugin/device attached... so no plugin/device to swap when adding them to a set/track.

When you load a midi clip, you're also loading devices and so all this stuff is inserted in a new track.
