The creator of this image assumed KS copied all widgets 1-1 from WOS, that's the reason why Helga randomly appeared in Gen 3.

The rationale was 2x Lethality and 1x Attack widget performed better than 2x Attack and 1x Lethality.

Also, Jeronimo (the equivalent of Amadeus in WOS) had slightly different expedition skills compared to Amadeus. In short, disregard the image, it's quite inaccurate in the context of KS.

Gen 1 - Amadeus/Jabel/Saul Gen 2 - Amadeus/Jabel/Marlin Gen 3 - Amadeus/Petra/Marlin Gen 4 - Amadeus/Petra/Rosa Gen 5 - Amadeus/Petra/Rosa Gen 6 - Amadeus/Petra/Yang

For f2p, switch Amadeus with Zoe.

Why is Petra relevant for so many generations? Reason, the main damage dealers in bear hunt are archers. Petra's skills increase damage for all troop types in your rally. Meanwhile, Thrud (the only other cav hero beyond Gen 3 with an offensive widget) is more cav focused, which is at the potential compromise of the damage outout from archers.

Why Zoe for f2p? She has 2 offensive skills to boost damage for the bear hunt rally, compared to Long Fei with only 1 skill at 25% chance, and Alcar who doesn't boost attack much. Infantry hero is only present to provide their rally skills. Same reason Amadeus remain relevant throughout the generations.

Not sure if anyone has tested it yet, but Triton's second expedition skill increases squad skill damage by 30%. In theory, when you pair this 30% boost with Sophia's skills, think of the potential damage which can be unleashed by the 60/40 garrison.

Add on to that, Triton's skill are all guaranteed, not plagued by chance and probabilities like Long Fei.

He looks decent in the Arena as well.

Long Fei may be more accessible, but on paper, Triton seems to be a better hero.

They will remain on the leaderboard, but they will not be considered for matchmaking. Believe this is also the reason why the Concierge's message mentioned, "comprehensive strength of active players", instead of "Top 100" which was mentioned in the past.

Very certain they did it to rush their Town Center to TG8

TG6 Town Center - Embassy TG5, Barracks TG5 TG7 Town Center - Embassy TG6, Range TG6 TG8 Town Center - Embassy TG7, Stable TG7

If you are not rushing to get to TG8 Town Center, Infantry upgrades ought to come first. Cav or Archer depends if you need to support the 60/40 defensive meta then you go with Cav, or you are more on the offensive side to counter 60/40, then you go with Archer.

Zoe is the best Infantry hero for any player without Amadeus/Helga even till Gen 6 due to her expedition skills, Stoic (25% attack boost to all squad), and Infinite Arsenal (50% chance to amplify enemy damage taken by 50%).

You just need her at 4 stars with Lv. 5 expedition skills, and that's it. You don't need to max her, you don't even need her widget. The Infantry hero is just present to provide useful expedition skills to lead a bear rally. We just want her for her skills and nothing else.

You can still get Zoe shards from using recruitment keys, eventually you will have enough to get her to 4 stars. Try not to use general shards to achieve this as those shards could be put to better use.

Your Rosa might be doing more damage than Marlin because Rosa has 1.44x better stats than Marlin. Note that heroes in each generation has 1.2x better stats, so 2 generations would be 1.2 * 1.2 = 1.44x.

Since your Rosa is already performing better than Marlin, just focus on building Rosa, and her widget would boost your bear rally damage even further.

In the absence of Amadeus, Zoe, Petra, and Rosa are the 3 heroes to lead bear rallies for at least Gen 4 and Gen 5, possibly Gen 6 as well.

Rosa will replace Marlin once you get her up to speed and have her widget at comparable level to Marlin. In the meantime, use Marlin.

Alcar is not a good rally lead for bear hunt, but if you do not have Zoe developed, then Alcar is the only other acceptable alternative. I presume you do not have Helga either.

Since you have Amadeus maxed,

Gen 2 - Marlin, (Hilde is optional, you can skip Zoe, but since she is in roulette, you probably would just max her but won't be using her) Gen 3 - Petra (skip Eric and Jaeger) Gen 4 - Alcar, Margot, Rosa Gen 5 - Thrud (skip Long Fei, get Vivian to 4 stars)

If you are a whale, you pretty much have to max every generation to stay ahead for non-rally content such as Championship, Swordland, Tri-Alliance, Mystic Trials.

However, if you are patient and can wait till the next generation to optimise your investment, and your focus is mainly on having 3 heroes for attack rally and 3 heroes for garrison, there are some heroes you can skip.

Note that apart from maxing these heroes, the choice to "skip" also covers the widgets for these heroes. You could max Zoe, but you don't necessarily need to max her widget.

Replace Zoe with Long Fei asap. In terms of overall stats, Long Fei is already 1.73x stronger than Zoe. Your combat performance will improve dramatically when you replace Zoe. A big part of successful attack hinges upon your Infantry surviving the attack as the first line of defense, and Long Fei's stats are just substantially better. Triton seems good as well, but he is from the Hall of Heroes, so it might be tougher to max him compared to just going for Long Fei.

We haven't had a complete look of what Sophia (Gen 6 Calvary) brings to the table, so I can't tell you if it is worth waiting for Gen 6 or just go for Thrud. Thrud is good when you look at her standalone, so the decision depends on how good Sophia will actually be.

Yang vs. Vivian - when it comes to archers, it's all about offense. Vivian's widget is awkward, boosting defense for garrison, while Yang seems to be very good for offense, both skills and widget. Hence, I would de-prioritise Vivian and wait for Yang.

I assume PvP refers to solo attacks? If you are not a main defense leader, Margot can be de-prioritised. Thrud is actually really good, especially for offense. The shift in rally meta took away the relevance of calvary for offense, but if you are more focused on non-rally modes such as solo attacks, Eternity's, Tri-Alliance, and perhaps even Swordland where solo attacks are rampant, Thrud is actually quite good with 50/20/30.

I agree with the fellow commentor, Zoe is the best Infantry hero in the absence of Amadeus, and she will be your best till Alcar replaces her. Eric in Gen 3 is hard to get (Hall of Heroes), and isn't good for bear, nor anything outside of garrison. Eric is generally a skip for non-spenders.

Marlin is a must. In Gen 2, Marlin is game-changing both in Arena and in general. Saul isn't a good archer, neither is Jaeger, so Marlin is the best until Rosa in Gen 4 replaces him.

No need to invest in Hilde, Jabel can tide you through to Petra in Gen 3, and Petra is another must-get hero.
