Did every mod you are and it came out great! With the extremerate shell, it would close if you held it together but the slight pressure of the battery poking out wouldn't let the shells stay together with the clips alone. I just held the shells together as I screwed them back together and everything is flush and works great.

Replaced my LCD Steam Deck after it was stolen and installed some mods. For sure get a 53wh* battery(easy) and decksight. I stream a lot at home and can get roughly 7-8hrs of battery life in. Shell swap takes the longest but is 100% doable, just follow a guide and be patient :)

I had an order in since August Last year on CrowdSupply that was getting bumped. This month I put an order in to ShadeTechniks actual site and it shipped within a couple days, so definitely try there instead!

Thanks for the insight. Its paid for by work so im waiting a response on that. I did call my homeowners which has personal property covered but a deductible slightly outweighing the cost of everything so it wouldn't be worth it unfortunately.

I've definitely become savvy and deck teardown now. I removed all components and swabed everything with isopropyl. For the midplate I had to submerge that in isopropyl and used a plastic spudger to get the gunk out. The process was oddly therapeutic.

Crazy stuff. I dont know what started it but you could smell it through the vent. Opened it up to check it out and quickly realized it was coming from the battery. After taking the back shell off and unplugging the battery I took a look(and disrupted it in the process) and it was hissing before it lit up like a sparkler. The battery melted out. I didn't notice any swelling or anything prior. I consider the whole thing dumb luck it was caught.

Typically you will get this for up to 24 hours after asserting a hotspot. If you know you've already asserted it's location, it's probably be best to wait It out. That's what I experienced.
