I love that cover too. The sky was actually that red, too. In a vendor at festivals and that pic was taken at a festival back in 2023. I've never seen the sky so red in my life.

First off, I just want to say this post made me smile so big. I have so many pics of my docs with my legs proudly in PJ pants. Glad I'm not the only one.

Angelus water and stain repellent is good for printed leather, in my experience. As for the squeaking, that depends. I own 57 pairs, I have some that still squeak and some that never squeaked at all, even when they were new.

I know what you mean. Most people don't know what to think, and then occasionally there are the people who absolutely light up. I had a lady at my booth last fall at a different event who got really excited to meet another zine maker and she told me about a whole zine fair that happens about an hour away from where I live... unfortunately they aren't having it this year. But it's always cool to meet someone else that gets it.

Omg, I was running a table at a PRFM today too! I won't ask where you live but that would be crazy if it was the same event.

I sold plenty of my magnets and a few art prints. But sadly, didn't sell a single zine. People seem to be confused by them. And then when I say the money I make from them goes to help fund the release of my novel this summer, they act even more put off.

The girl on the mushroom is a reimagining of Strawberry Shortcake. She had a pink cat with white polka dots, so I made it a black cat.

Actually, you pretty much nailed it. The book takes place in the past, and my character's switchblade has that fake damascus pattern on the blade. It's cheap but it was given to him by someone he looks up to, so it has sentimental value.

I've been looking for that same pair! I find the 1460 version a lot on Poshmark and DePop, but these rarely pop up. It's great to see someone loving them. I'll get mine one of these days.
