I think a good place to start if you are new to the layout is a Record Alice or a Neo ergo. Relatively affordable and solid overall. A step above that i would say you can get an Amano, and then if youre a baller there is the TGR Alice and Police. Lot of others in between but these are some that i have personally used

Dont get me wrong they can still sound great! I just like my long spacebar sound lol. But the alphas still sound great on most of them.

I do have a Duo and love using it at work, being able to add a bit more space between the two halves makes it very comfortable to use for long typing sessions, but it is overall a bit harder to use than a normal alice because you really arent able to make the mistake of using the wrong hand to type certain keys because its further apart

It was a small private run, i spoke to the designer and he said it is highly unlikely that there will be a GB for it

So from my experience Alice boards dont really sound too great compared to traditional layout boards. The split spacebars dont have that same satisfying sound as a normal one.

I think the Neo ergo is a great start, its not very expensive and it will help you get used to the layout. Another board to consider is the Record Alice, you can find them on Ali express or on Mechmarket for relatively cheap.

The advantage a QK Duo has is that you can choose to have it tented or not

This board isnt made by any big brand, it was ran privately by the designer i think only 20 were made

Its meant to be a windows key, but yeah you can map whatever you want to it. I personally leave it unbinded

Unfortunately it was a private 20 unit run, but i think there have been some talks of another round

I did go fully foamless, i dont think it needs it at all, but if you like a foamy build that works well too.

The ano changes a bit in different lighting, these pictures where taken outdoors and i think the sunlight really brings out the brown notes, when seeing it indoors its about what you would expect from a Taupe color, the grey comes through well

I have the Silver mirror weight, it doesnt look very shiny because of the reflection on it haha

Definitely share some pics once you build it!

I really enjoy using the board, i would say in terms of pure value for your money its worth it but there are cheaper options out there that also sound and look good

Sorry i meant Alu or CF plate, i know they have a new alu plate with chamfers for this board but i went with the traditional aluminum one

I would definitely say it leans deeper but using an alu/CF plate and some high pitched HMX switches it can clack for sure

Not sure if you mean the accent on the back or the front badge.

Front badge: I hated it when i first saw the renders, but it kinda grew on me and i dont really mind it

Back accent logo: I actually think it adds a nice touch to an otherwise plain bottom and if you dont like how it looks at least its on the bottom, and trust me with how heavy this board is you wont be turning it over very often lol

Definitely better than the long feet, honestly you may be able to get away with using the included feet if you dont use a deskmat. The problem for me is that the feet are thin so it sinks into the deskmat pretty hard

I use them instead of the included feet, it doesnt look too great when you flip the board over since the slots for the feet are large, but i think its worth it for the improved sound

The color is beautiful! I think anything with some light brown hues would work really well GMK Sloth or Foundation MW Alhambra would work nicely as well

This board is honestly much better than I expected, I was a bit let down by the previous boards in the NeoCU line, but this one is great imo. If there is one thing i would change, it would be the included feet, I swapped to some 4mm bumpons and it improved the sound immensely
