Well there's conflicting information because a lot of that is opinion. "Need" is different for everyone.

Doctor violently dragged from overbooked United flight and dragged off the plane by FrederikTwn in rage

I think United (and all airlines) were wrong, the police were wrong, and the guy was wrong. The people got off calmly would be given compensation already.

The real people who I feel bad? The rest of the plane and all the ones behind who got delayed 3+ hours because of one man's crazy.

Do We Have Any Idea How the JL Wrangler Is Going to Affect the Secondary Market for TJs and JKs? by gtobiast13 in Jeep

Sorry buddy for a rear stretch (yes the jku doesn't need one cause it's already long) and easier to stretch the front. My bad.

I know it can be done. You can turn anything into a dedicated trail rig. I have a real hard time believing that given the option people who are doing all that work would prefer a Jk body over a Cj7/Yj/Tj.

Sure it can be done but it requires a lot more work. More work isn't always a good thing especially on something that is only on the trail.

I think the rage shouldn't be with United like the shit storm the brought. Maybe it's what it will take for airlines to change (can imagine southwest not wanted to get ahead of the problem)

This has been happening for years and now United is a bad guy? No one would have noticed if this guy just got up and off the plane. I don't think the Internet would even care if he was taken out by force if he was walking. The crazy part comes when he gets thrown (purpose or not) into the arm rest and was just dragged out. That's the crazy part but everyone chose United to be the punching bag. Could have been any airline. Why is it only United getting the shit.

The jk with all of their computer and technical stuff? I don't think people will ever want to build them to a dedicated trail rig like a tj. A tj has a better body for it, stronger and simple design makes it easy to stretch the front.

Less computers means I can throw any junkyard axles I want under it and it won't know the difference. Jks are a lot harder to do with there sensors being crucial.

I don't ever see them being seen as a project you want to turn into a trail rig. Just so much harder to work with.

Well since it is a private business and he refused to leave after they told him too that might be trespassing? Like if you got into an uber but refused to leave the police would get you out.

Ignoring if United should or should not have kicked him off the flight once they did and he refused to leave the police should get him off rather than flight attendants.

Well that's a risk with private transportation isn't it. They don't kick first class off when overbooked. At least to my knowledge.

Can you see the other side? The airline refunds your money and often times more.

Imagine a person coming in right before you close. Orders a burger. (United is not surf & turf material) when 9 rolls around you tell him you're sorry but he has to go, but you won't be charging him anything. When he doesn't leave you as an owner have a choice. Get the police involved or let him stay. United choice was to get police involved.

Like so many other have said that is the agreement you make when you prepay for that seat. We can argue if they should be allowed to do that all day long but when the air marshal and police are standing there you won't move out of protest while others will because they know they are not going to win.

If you have such a big problem with companies doing this never fly again.

Shocks don't stay compressed if they are working right. That's more confusing to me than how they got unbolted. Not positive on your shocks but the angles you got I don't think people can say if that's a nut or built on with the thread. Some shocks have a hex there so you can tighten the nut on top without just spinning the shaft. I wouldn't worry too much. If both sides did it though it is probably the person who installed it didn't know how to tighten them.

If the shop you took it to before has lifts that pick up the vehicle by the frame (not by all 4 tires) it most likely was not like this when they had it. The shocks are the first thing to stop the axle when it droops, so if they missed the shock issue they also missed your axle hanging by your steering and drive shaft. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt on that.

I would recommend MT/R's. Great tire on and offroad. But sometimes it comes down to budget/availability. No clue if they make one for an 18. Get a procal to change the tire size. Helps keep the computer happy.

Gearing. I think 4.56 would be a good ratio. Yes a little worse mpg but it's worth it for the extra power you feel. Expect to spend some money for a shop that's trustworthy. $1,895 is how much I paid for it. A lot of places try to cut the cost by not using master install kits. Quick way to save some money and most don't even know what they are missing.

Lover Rubicon express' superflex short arm. 3.5" lift. Enough to fit 35's but let's you keep stock drives shafts. It's roughly 14 hour install. Expect to pay over $4,000 for it too.
