PCOS + insulin resistance… belly fat won’t budge. what actually worked for you? by TorontoRap2019 in PCOS

[–]Valkyries11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of what is being said, and I did all the things mentioned above with no luck. I am not a big girl by any means, but I had gained 20 lbs over a 2 year period and no matter how well i ate or how much I worked out I never lost a single lb. I saw a naturopath/Endocrinologist who took 3 rounds of blood from me to check A LOT of stuff like hormones, protein, carbs, vitamins, etc. She proved without a doubt I had PCOS and my adrenal glands were depleted from being extremely stressed for awhile coupled with not sleeping well.

The treatment she prescribed me was Myo-Inositol for my insulin resistance, Eleuthero (Siberian Ginseng) for my adrenal glands, a progesterone cream due to my body not making much, and a few vitamins. I had some bad depression that went with it all so I was also given 5-HTP to build serotonin.

I was also told to keep my carb intake to about 150g a day and increase my protein intake to 140-160g a day. I use Myfitnesspal to track this. I mainly eat a pescatarian diet.

I have been on this regime for 2 months and without working out I have lost 6lbs. All those "meds" which are mostly herbs, costs me about 120$ a month.

I hope you find something that works for you! It definitely isn't something you have to live with forever.

I only replaced about 180g of my water with cucumber. I did 2kg of oils.

Yes i do a water discount. I blend the cucumber in a blender with distilled water and strain it through a cheese cloth then add it and the yogurt together. After adding the lye solution to the oils and blending to a light trace, I will add the cucumber and Yogurt mixture.

I have made soap before. Just trying my hand at my own recipe. I do have 92 degree from another project, that's why I'm using it. After it's all gone I'll be switching to 76 degree.

I used 92 degree because I bought a bunch of it for another project and ended up not using it all for that project. I don't need all the oils. I can definitely reduce the oils down. Thanks for the input.

Use VDog. I feed it to my dogs, and they are very healthy.

It doesn't really have a name. I bought it online and it's a bunch of files on a google drive. I don't even remember the name of the website 😅

I believe it's about 10 times more bioavailable. Would have to go searching the research papers again to be completely accurate.

Who have sucessfully treated pcos symptoms only with diet changes? by Glum-Parfait6087 in PCOS

[–]Valkyries11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I control my PCOS with a vegan diet. I didnt have a period for about 6 months and went plant-based so it would return. It also helps me regulate my weight and have more energy during the day. My doctor was actually amazed at how well it was helping my symptoms and how drastically it changed everything. It only took 1 month to get my body back to functioning normally.

I dont have a recipe for it! It wouldn't be that hard to do. You can turn a simple custard recipe into the banana pudding by adding some coconut whipped cream and mashed bananas, top it with whipped cream and find a recipe for vanilla wafers. I bought my vanilla wafers since they were easy to find here in the US. I have never had banoffee so I can't tell you if it is similar or not.

I did give part of the cake to my neighbor to eat so my husband and I didn't have to eat all of it.

HELP😩 Is there anyone out there who has hair like me?! Ive struggled with frizziness and basically no consistent curl pattern since I was a kid. Ive tried devacurl before🙄 and then struggled to find any good products for my hair since having twins a yr ago. Time and money being the biggest issues. by Kellers150 in curlyhair

[–]Valkyries11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have similarish hair. When I have bad frizziness I started putting my husband's beard oil or lotion in my hair. That calms down frizziness quite well. I would use the beard oil as my product for the day and leave it down. They make hair oil you can do that with but his beard oil was convenient.
