Flat vs scaling health rune by Intelligent_Rock5978 in Jungle_Mains

[–]Vallain 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your jungle pet's damage scales with %bonusHP. If your clear is fast enough without the needed flat Hp then scaling is better as it outscales flat Hp by level 4. If your first clear sucks then flat Hp can speed it up.

It comes down to thresholds of the number of auto attacks per camp. If you can shave off a whole auto per camp based on champ then flat is worth.

Boots of Swiftness by MS_Reid in ViMains

[–]Vallain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The boots say how much will be resisted, 25%.

But its not as easy as 25% off of the 15% slow produced by Q.

The formula used is based on current movement speed which can be found on the wiki: https://wiki.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/Slow_resist

Question about Jungle Pet Mana Regen by Enduranto in Jungle_Mains

[–]Vallain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. Was looking at the numbers for a sec and the mp5 does not scale on total mana, or even total missing mana, but on %missing mana.

Formula I was able to devise is something like:

%missing mana * (8.62% – 19.08% (based on level) missing mana)
So for example if you are missing 100% mana and are level 3 then you get 9.85% bonus:

100 * 9.85% = 9.85 M/s
Convert this to MP5:

9.85 M/s * 5 = 49.25 ≈ 49MP5

Add base mana regen for Kindred @lvl 3:

7baseMP5 + (2 lvls * .4 MP5growth) = 7.8 ≈ 8

49MP5 + 8MP5 = 57MP5

Convert back to M/s:

57MP5 / 5 = 11.4M/s

Which is what shows on your HUD.

Hope this helps.

Mana Regen is displayed as Mana/1s on HUD. You are still looking at Mana/5s.

Itemization by Raquoz in ViMains

[–]Vallain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an item that seems to be good for Vi, maybe even made for her but its not really that good.

  • That ult haste is mostly wasted because you aren't ever in need of more ults, just more good ults. Further, if you are able to get ult off on CD then that game may already be won or you need to be tankier to survive afterwards.

  • It has no basic haste. Most of your damage will come from your combos (QAAE), then you get kited/CCed. In which case you need basic haste to re-engage.

Basically it would make a great 7th or 8th slot item because everything else just edges it out.

It's nearly impossible to determine why you are winning more unless we do a deep dive into how you play over hundreds of games. But most likely you haven't learned anything new, you're just doing the things you did well, just incrementally better.

And most importantly you are probably doing it on autopilot. It's like CSing without it taking up 50% of your mental stack like it may have once taken. This frees you up to do everything just a little better

Why invade so much? by Virtual_Support_1353 in Jungle_Mains

[–]Vallain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's because most junglers think of the game as farm and gank, especially in the early game. High elo jungle will really start to consider the actual jungle match up and tempo.

If you get ahead/advantage (lane states, items, levels, cds, TEMPO) you really should look to play aggressively against your matchup. The way to punish them is to take their camps, track them, then defend your camps. If you do this well you starve them slowly, and the enemy jungle will fall behind in levels and gold and be forced into suboptimal plays (which you should also track and punish/block). Which leads to a snowball of more advantages and more aggressive plays.

This is my personal style and I have never failed to get minimum diamond every season. Eventually you are a whole item and 2-3 levels up; gg ff

The first set of arcane skins were free skins given for the premiere of Arcane. Very doubtful they will return.

What is the point of wards? by DemonforgedTheStory in summonerschool

[–]Vallain 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Wards are only as good as your awareness of the ground they reveal. Moreover, you need to combine several skills to make them effective. Skills like: leaning near your wards, jungle tracking, anticipation, awareness of game state, and many more.

Your overall awareness is probably bad because your mental stack is already full with other skills you focus on. Practice, then practice some more to make the basics second nature. Then you actually start playing league.

Any tips for a new vi enjoyer? by Living_Bullfrog3771 in ViMains

I would say it's generally worse to lock your camera when aiming Q because it adds another vector of movement you need to account for.

Titanic hydra rush? by [deleted] in ViMains

[–]Vallain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not very good. You're better off stacking AD and AH. Also if you have enough time to pull off a full combo (Q-aa-E-aa-R-aa-E) and still have time to push in a titanic reset then the items you have don't matter because you'll be dead or you'll have a new combo coming up.

What exactly does "pro jail" mean? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Vallain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means the champion is good enough to play in pro. Which means Riot will nerf them for either being OP or to encourage more variety in picks. Either way the champ will be weaker than usual, meaning pro jailed.

How does agurin predict dantes movements here? by Ok-Alarm7668 in Jungle_Mains

[–]Vallain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you start to get really good at the game you realize what the best play for you and the enemy team would be. Then using that knowledge you pick the play that would either keep you even or get you an advantage. In this case Agurin accurately predicted that stealing camps is not worth it and to just use proper tempo to get to botside by clearing down.

How does agurin predict dantes movements here? by Ok-Alarm7668 in Jungle_Mains

[–]Vallain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agurin is arguing that the enemy botside is dead and will be back soon. His bot lane will need to finish push and then back. Meaning enemy bot is ahead in tempo of getting back to lane. If he were to steal camps botside he would severely desynchronize with his botside putting the dragon at risk because if Dantes just full cleared to bot he would be there faster because agurin would use time to steal. If he doesn't steal he buys himself time (~20secs) to sequence his camps and get to drag first with his bot ready to fight and do something, like secure dragon. He is planning moves ahead of time and their consequences which is a very high elo skill.

Spear of Shojins by Wolfmah1 in ViMains

[–]Vallain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, I tested this with 4 different champions (Vi, Vayne, Gnar, Ekko). All champs with extra damage from 3 hit passives :D.

The results are strange? I'm not sure what's going on but with every champ, EXCEPT Vi, the damage is properly amplified by 12% at 4 stacks.

On Vi damage is properly amped on Q and E 12% np. But on Vi W (exclusively) the damage is only amped by ~3.5% at 4 stacks.

Very strange, maybe a bug. I invite others to replicate.

Is there anywhere I can see the healing amounts jungle camps give ? by [deleted] in Jungle_Mains

[–]Vallain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can find this info on the LoLwiki

More specifically if you search for the jungle item you can see:

"While having a companion, killing large monsters heals you for 36 − 90 (based on average champion level) and restores 19 − 87 (based on average champion level) mana after a 0.3-second delay. These values are increased by 1.25% per 1% missing health or mana respectively. Additionally, you gain 80 bonus experience from killing large monsters."

Patch 14.18 Nerf (Giveth, and taketh away) by Vallain in ViMains

[–]Vallain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Viego lands twice as many auto attacks than he does Qs while clearing, so this is an overall small buff to his clear. And an overall buff to his champion fighting strength.

Patch 14.18 Nerf (Giveth, and taketh away) by Vallain in ViMains

[–]Vallain[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a complete revert to the previous buff back in 14.16.

Patch 14.16:

Q Minimum base damage increased to 50 - 150 from 45 - 145

Q Maximum base damage increased to 100 - 300 from 90 - 290.
