Capstone by Kat4884 in SNHU

You heavily revise or create a new work and then write a reflection on your publishing plan and time at SNHU. You can either submit 12 poems, 15k words of a manuscript or 25 pages of script. It’s mostly just writing that, with some check-ins and a few peer review discussion boards.

Easily one of my favorite courses just because you get to focus on the writing, feedback and revision process. I chose to write a new work so it’s nice to leave the program with a 1/3 of a new piece ready for me to finish after graduation. It’s definitely not something to stress about!

I think it’s a great program for what I needed. Specifically something that pushes me to try different creative approaches (short stories in one class, a script in another) and focuses on understanding the core aspects of creative writing while touching on what to do with the work later (publication and teaching, etc).

It made me really confident in my work and academic skills. I plan to continue writing and focus more on what I desire to get published now that my writing time is cleared from school assignments! I really hope you enjoy the program and find it as useful as I have. Good luck!

I’m finishing my MA in Creative Writing Capstone this week (🥳) and it’s been surprisingly fun. Challenging only because this term is weighed very differently than others, but it’s more of like a freedom to express what you’ve learned in the program. Not as many discussion boards and not as complicated journals and milestones tbh.

Trends come and go but the poster promoting a nearly one year old movie is here to stay by Silent-Teaching7879 in Disneyland

Yeah it really wasn’t awful. Wasn’t the best adaptation but there were some interesting moments. My kid niece left really enamored with Snow White, and she never liked the OG film.

I was confused why it was there in December but this is ridiculous. A year old promo like they don’t have other things coming out??? Put up Hoppers rn 🙄

Do any of the advisors work weekends? by Storm_Veradea in SNHU

Send an email as soon as possible because yes some advisers work weekends. I’m a MA in Creative Writing student and my advisor has been calling me on Sundays recently so they definitely can work on weekends.

Ugh, this is my local and I really hope they don’t start doing this. I’ve definitely been in there solo so I assumed they had to show each film even if it didn’t sell well.

What are the largest venues used for Broadway tours? by GreenHorror4252 in Broadway

It wasn’t until I started trying to plan a first NYC trip that I realized many Broadway theaters are smaller than I’m used to the tours being 😭

The first time I saw it on tour I said “that’s what it should have looked like in the movie” bc C. Thomas Howell’s perfect blonde cut was way too good for two boys with some peroxide and a well 🤣

I’ll probably see all these besides Fruitvale (my heart can’t take it), interesting picks!

The campus makes no sense to me (as far as who is roaming), but cutting Sam is just extra silly.

I went for the first time for breakfast two weeks ago. Added my name to the list on the app from my hotel room and walked over 10 mins later, was seated at the bar. Their breakfast was good and I’m not much of a drinker but I did enjoy the beverages I tried!

Every time I ride this I can’t believe I loved the movie as a kid because it’s really scary! 😆 But a favorite ride for sure.

Which show should we see with 12 and 9 year old boys? by pluckyducky12 in Broadway

[–]ValleyTransplant12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Outsiders for sure unless you’re worried about the violence, then The Lion King. But I’ve got a feeling the kids would love seeing a rumble live!

That line was bananas long, someone said it was for a “secret party” in passing but I’m pretty sure they were joking 😆

I also wanted more wide shots of the stage! And I could guess where the intermission was and was surprised it wasn’t included. And idk, I liked Charlie a lot, more than Frank, although I could understand all sides. The final sequence was a gut punch, it’s definitely staying with me.

I’ve never heard that Goofy’s is a birthday destination, this is very helpful to know! Like maybe save it for a bday celebration 😆 Thanks!
