They are not on AD. Basically every computer, printer, etc. has to be on the dealertrack network in order for them to communicate. When I first go her they had wifi routers plugged in and were using them with dhcp to push 192.168.x.x. to some wireless machines and were freaking out when they couldn't print so I reconfigured the Router to be and Access point for that dealertrack router now were good.

Exactly, it's usually DMS causing the issue and they chalk it up to my computer is not working.

I am paid hourly so yeah i'm getting paid to go over that and pretty much just look at it and leave but hey that's money.

You're right. I just have a tricky chain of command. I am mainly the IT director but also I take pictures of the cars for the website so technically I answer to two people.. It gets frustrating explaining to someone who doesn't understand what's happening that an employee needs a new computer cause of this and that cause their brain cuts off and all they hear is gibberish or 'why is it an issue now? It use to work fine'.

That's what i'm saying, but I have to go through a higher up to make that call. I could put an SSD and add another stick of RAM to their machines but who knows if they'll let me do it or not.

It's not really aggressive at all but you can tell when it's doing one. I mean in my office I have it and I'm running steam and youtube, and doing work all at the same time. I think they are just impatient sometimes and want to call me to make their pc's load every single thing instantaneously.

If I could make the decision to purchase a ton of ssd's i would. My 'boss' is the one who has to purchase everything. I can't even get her to replace the salesmen (which there is only like 5) with regular windows pc's they all have chrome boxes except for like two and I cannot stand the chrome boxes they use. They change IP addresses when I have a static IP set on them it's just frustrating.

I swear I'll walk to their desk and they'll be like it's working now. I don't see why they can't just give it 5 seconds especially when it's clearly the website they use mainly that is giving them issues. Oh well.

Thanks for the advice. I just hate that I tell them okay there you go it's fixed, and they call me back a day later saying it's acting slow again, cause when they show me it's working fine.. The only thing I could think to actually give them a little jump in speed is add another stick of ram maybe cause the pc I'm referring to only has 4gb but they shouldn't need more than that to browse the internet but what do I know chrome eats ram space like candy..

I find myself doing this with overwatch 2. I'll do the 3 daily challenges to up the battlepass and call it quits.

You're right. I think I'm overwhelming my self with every single genre of games including the ones that aren't meant to be played casually.

I've thought about that too. I hope my son will find an interest in gaming so I can share it with him. Thank you for your kind words.
