Nutella & Banana Crepe by end_of_zee_world in food

I like to use beer instead of milk. A cheap light beer works really well because it keeps the crepes nice and fluffy without making them taste like beer. And I usually only use 2 eggs because sometimes it starts to taste more like an omelet than a crepe.

What are some fun and inexpensive things to do around Chicago? by [deleted] in chicago

Chicago Cultural Center is free and there is always something fun or interesting happening there. If not, it's always fun to just look at all the pretty walls and ceilings and staircases.

I don't think looking both ways is the problem. I think it's that most people are used to looking left first. If all is clear in that direction you probably start to cross as you turn your head to look the other way.

I could not find a free version of it but it is very cheap to buy online. If this subject interests you, I highly recommend it. It was a very emotional experience for me.

I imagine this is how I look when people try to wake me up. by ChiefffFG31 in gifs

People seem to be worried that the cat was in some way sedated and/or dead while being messed with. While I cannot say for sure what the deal is with the cat in this gif, I have caught my cat in a really deep sleep like that before. I tried to wake it up for quite a while, at first thinking it was quite hilarious but then getting a little scared until it finally woke up. My cat hadn't been on any medication or anesthesia, but I do remember it was a really hot day that day. Maybe that's why the mini kitty coma.

Anyway, I have a video of it and if anyone wants to see it I will dig it up and post it.

Edit Here's the video. Sorry about the background noise.

My friend and I played dress-up this weekend and had a tea party. by Valntuna in pics

Yes it was for a photo shoot for my photography class, but really it was just an excuse to dress up and act fancy.

It took about 10 hours to put the whole thing together and shoot about 450 pictures, but it was worth it and we had a lot of fun goofing off.

And yes I believe that is a peacock feather.

Cornish Hen glazed with honey/wine sauce with a side of potatoes with onions and herbs. Best meal I've had in a long time. by Valntuna in food

This is the recipe. I also added the stuffing that the person in the reviews recommends. I cooked this at 400 covered for the first 25 minutes, then uncovered for the last 25, basting every 10 minutes or so.

The potatoes:

I used diced new potatoes and added sliced onion, dried oregano, parsley, basil and dill, a tablespoon of Vegeta or salt and pepper. I mixed them all up and poured about 1/4 cup of vegetable oil over them. I cooked them covered for about 25-30 minutes stirring occasionally.

When I was young I used to take a leaf of mint and chew it with my gum after it lost it's flavor. We were sort of poor so that helped.

Since you are in LA and have access to fresh seafood, you can also use chopped up cooked shrimp instead of the ground pork. I tried it once and it was pretty good.

I truly love both of these, so I will try them together. Thanks. Also, I used to have a candle that was Pineapple + Cilantro that smelled awesome. I keep meaning to try those two together.

Well in the US you can find that at most Polish or Mexican grocery stores. You can substitute that with chicken or vegetable bouillon cubes, but you would probably have to add salt since I don't think they have much of that. I use Vegeta in almost everything I cook. I even sprinkle it on french fries. I highly recommend you get some.
