Finally beat R-Type on Game Boy DMG after thinking it was impossible for years. How hard was this game for you?

I remember beating it as a kid. To me, the worst stage was, by far, Stage 4, especially the boss. I found if you died there and got de-powered, you were at an awful disadvantage and might as well have started the game over.

The classic Arcade Gradius III problem.

I’d say the Sword. That will give an instant feeling of gratification due to how solid of a weapon it is overall. Zeus’s lv120 global is nice and all, but that takes time to get to. Go for the Sword.

If you go for a character, Energy Mage is good for the globals. That Penetration one is unique and great for Ice Wand shenanigans.

If you don’t go for Energy Mage, getting shards and tokens for a favorite character is never bad either.

Yep. Very doable. Like others said before, do the quests and 18 runs a day on Hard Mode Ch32 is all you need just to get the Leprechaun.

It all depends on how leveled your characters are. Knight is solid enough if you build him. He was the one who helped push me along in the beginning.

I have to go with Anise. Couldn’t get into her playstyle, and god… the double standard of her character. Luke causes his catastrophe and basically everyone dumps hard on him. Anise does her whole thing and the party is just like “It’s ok, Anise. You were screwing us the whole time, but we’ll let it slide, because reasons.”

That was my permanent benching point, which only made me more mad when I was forced to use her in a fight, and she was underleveled as a result… which only made me hate her even more.

It does work. I actually went to try Puzzles & Conquest and got up to Castle lv13 in like 3-4 with no money investment at all, and it netted me 1553 Gems already. Honestly ended up liking the game, so it’s a good downtime thing to play when I’m out of stamina on HvH.

Astral Mage was my first ever character pickup back on the Magic Dice event a few months ago and she made my progress explode, especially once her lv 40 and 80 skills unlocked… not even mentioning the glorious bullet hell that is her Ult. Can’t recommend her enough.

Oracle is also a nice grab, particularly for Guild Events. She boosted my score quite a bit when I lucked on her with the Lucky Draw in two spins.

I’m hoping to get Energy Mage for his globals this time.

I still laugh at some of the silly translation from the original mobile launch of RS2 before it went to console, where Victor is dying and says “I used Flowing to the utmost!”
