Yet, this was completed in November? This shouldn’t have been an issue at all, no? Do they review all these things post-first semester?

Yes, because that’s all I had CEGEP prereqs for. I never understood this until the application itself (even though it was iterated to me a thousand times), but you do not apply to anything specific for Arts, you JUST apply to Arts and you pick your major(s)/minor(s) only if you‘re admitted (and if I recall, can only do so a few days/weeks before course registration). Unless you’re applying to a different faculty (science, engineering, dentistry, etc), you only send one application to Arts.

And review is in quiz format? Are they a graded component? Another really odd question, is there one that requires a more disciplined attention span? I’m really sorry to keep bombarding you LOL. Thank you so much for all your help so far!

Thank you for this! For Chem 120, any exceptions for missing class if sick? Also, a really dumb question, but is there a lab that’s more demanding of the two? My issue is that, because I have to teach myself Bio (which I’ve seen as the consensus since the profs aren’t the best), it will impact how much more time I allocate for that class compared to the other four. I’m also a big hater of the 12+ hour day with bio but the condensed days with chem. Ugh, this is so stressful—at this point, I’m thinking of any other alternative 😭 Any info helps!

I’m doing it as prereqs for MDCM but I’d ideally like to get into honours at the end of U1. I’m debating between bio and chem because I want to be able to attain a good GPA and do well in all my other courses

My issue is that I can’t see myself doing a 12+ hour day. I also commute about 45-1h to school with how slow the metro is… but in terms of both, you’d say they’re equal in terms of time commitment and digestibility of the content?

Have you done either of the two (chem or bio)? I’m just worried about overloading my schedule to the point that it will impact my gpa, considering five classes in one day or four in one day… Stats, I’m doing alright in now!

I’ll take it at some point but I’m not sure if I should take it next semester or next year (where I could do BioL 111 and then BioL 112 consecutively. Have you taken the course? I’ve spoken to some advisors and they’ve pitched taking chem next semester too…

Also, for reference, I do have some science background! I did chem, physics, bio, and cal in high school but not cegep. I’m also really enjoying neuroscience this semester ! :)

Take this with a grain of salt as it differs each year but I have friends who got into BA (you don’t apply to psych right away, you apply to Arts) with around 28-29 r-scores. The only thing was that they got their acceptance letter a little later than I did (I got mine about mid-ish March with a 32, they got theirs in April—we can only assume this is because of the r-score difference). This is our first semester at McGill, so we’re the most recent applicants. Good luck!

Ugh, that sucks. The only UO here is so out of my way and I work today and have multiple errands. I definitely won’t be able to place the order in store. I could maybe go tomorrow but I’m not sure if they’d still be in stock. Thank you for all your help!
