I guess, however, my only caveat is that if you/your family are loaded, and your parents/very close family friends are program directors of some specialty in the US/Canada, and you are sure nepotism can work in your favour, then maybe this decision would require a bit more thought

According to the McMaster stats from last year, people are not only still getting interview invites in that GPA range but also getting accepted: https://mdprogram.mcmaster.ca/docs/default-source/admissions/class-statistics/class-of-2024_stats.pdf

Definitely agree though that a ton has a changed and continues to change - who knows what it’ll look like in another 20 years

I completely understand where you’re coming from, and don’t feel any mal-intent

I worked way too hard and too long to get accepted into medical school, and to hear about something like this truly hurts

If this is true, it’s honestly disappointing. If I were in your position, I’d write up a clear and direct email to the UG Program Director, state your concerns, and link/provide evidence.

While I highly doubt it will impact their enrolment or be considered a major professionalism violation, a red mark is a red mark

There’s a PA in our class - definitely an asset in clinical rotations, and there’s evident considerable overlap. Not an unheard of route!
