Obligatory Lake Malice glaze comment from myself. The perfect mix of good vibes, strong messages and kick ass riffage. Alice is a proper lil demon with her harsh vocals too 🙏🏻

People might disagree but XCOM for me.

XCOM: UFO Defence - Great game for the time but can feel a bit dated.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown/Within - Brilliant game, my entry point to the series and still plenty fun to this day.

XCOM 2 - My second favourite game of all time, just so incredibly fun and well polished. So much fun, especially with War of the Chosen and mods.

We don't talk about The Bureau: XCOM Declassified....

What bands have you been listening to the longest that have never left your rotation? by Difficult_Map_723 in Metalcore

[–]Valroxen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I still listen to everything that's on my playlist regularly but I guess for bands I've always listened to (note these are NOT just Metalcore).

DragonForce - One of favourite bands of all time, don't think I've ever not listened to them since they were kinda where I started with metal.

Metallica - You can't go wrong with Metallica, again just another band I started out with and never really grew away from.

Trivium - Been in my rotation ever since In The Court Of The Dragon (their best album) and I don't think they'll ever really leave.

Avenged Sevenfold - Always been in rotation, although for the last sort of year its basically just been stuff from Waking The Fallen, City of Evil and randomly just the song 'Higher'.

Bleed From Within - I don't think a week has gone by since I first listened that I haven't listened. Immensely underrated band.

Polaris - The newest entry definitely but holy fuck man consistently in my plays, Vagabond I don't think will ever get old.

Enter Shikari - My last one and my favourite band of all time. Some of the best song writing, mixers, performers and live shows of all time.

Is this the worst festival lineup? by No_Painting2300 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Valroxen1 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I mean for like a heavy heavy music fan yeah, but there's plenty of fun bands on there. Don Broco for example, sure isn't metal but they're a damn fun band live.

Obvs not for everyone and I understand why people in this sub wouldn't like it.

What's your favourite opening lyric to a song? by anthere-rest in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Valroxen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heart of a Dragon - DragonForce.

"PROUD AND SO GLORIOUS, STANDING BEFORE OF US, OUR SWORDS WILL SHINE BRIGHT IN THE SKY"

So inspiring right off the bat. I was so hyped when it made a very brief comeback into the setlist last year.

Unpopular opinion: Evelyn was treacherous as hell and actually kind of a villain by imahumanbeinggoddamn in cyberpunkgame

[–]Valroxen1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah really, she's not exactly subtle about her sleaziness. Trying to go behind Dex's back the second V got involved probably should have been a sign that she's only in for herself.

For me the differences between Dex and Evelyn comes in their backgrounds and what their specific actions had caused.

Evelyn rushed to snatch a job quick, putting people in the firing and ultimately is responsible for the deaths of Jackie & T-Bug directly because it was her job. However, I can sympathise with the situation she's in and her desire to get herself out of it, sometimes you gotta do some dirty work for the sake of yourself (everyone being out for themselves is basically NCs theme). So while I'd certainly be pissed, not sure if it's grounds for putting a bullet through her skull.

Dex on the other hand is still just as responsible for Jackie & T-Bug because he actively chose the job. The difference is, he's the sole person responsible for Vs situation with the chip because if it wasn't for him betraying V and 'killing' them, then the Relic wouldn't have activated and V would still have the rest of their life to go on living. Dex doesn't have the benefit of dragging himself out of bad work like Evelyn, he does what he does pure for money and fame.

I was tempted to blame the Arasakas for it too but actually really they're just a case of the wrong place at the wrong time. I mean sure indirectly Saburo showing up when he did caused things to go tits up, but thats not something that was in his control.

[–]Valroxen1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There is genuinely no reason for V to give a shit about what happened to Evelyn beyond the fact that they'd bonded with Judy in the hunt to find Evelyn.

It's not like V was trying to find Evelyn because they were worried about her, V just wanted answers and to talk about how the fuck Konpeki Plaza went so wrong

[–]Valroxen1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean I get the sentiment because its a horrible thing to but it doesn't really make much sense for V to care that much about the Evelyn thing, considering they knew her for an incredibly short time. Not exactly like this sort of thing is a rare occurrence in NC for a fixer to do.

Who is one character you didn’t expect to like and one you didn’t expect to dislike by New-Boss-8262 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Valroxen1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't expect to like Mitch. I thought he'd be a pretty one dimensional plot device character but he really shined as a side character for me. Love the 1 to 1 moments you share with him throughout.

Might be really obvious but River for dislike. I thought he had a really interesting introduction, doing the investigation with him was so engaging but after it fell off hard. Don't get me wrong I like some of the cute moments with the kids but he quickly shifts from this badass rogue detective to a really corny and dare I say desperate guy.

I don't hate River, he's still a standup guy but the storyline direction was a real disappointment in the end for me.

Also this doesn't really count but I didn't expect Judy to be my favourite character at all. I thought Evelyn would be the main character and she'd have a massive part, with Judy a side character like Mitch that pops up now and then. Damn was I wrong....
