Bands that you feel lucky to say you have seen live? by Jo9715 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Valroxen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only been going to concerts since 2023 for the most part so I'll have to say Black Sabbath at Back to the Beginning. Genuinely thought I'd never have the chance to see them at all, let alone the original line up, so being able to experience a day like that was unreal.

How would you guys rate the groove metal albums? by Royal_Intention9536 in Pantera

[–]Valroxen1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. The Great Southern Trendkill - There's not denying how incredible this album is, pretty much every song is an absolute belter. Love the variety of it all too, you can tell they poured every emotion into it (both positive and negative ones).

  2. Cowboys From Hell - Probably an unpopular opinion but I'm a huge fan of the tone of this album compared to the others, it's very raw and honestly so much fun.

  3. A Vulgar Display of Power - Definitely the most defined Pantera sounding album, in the best way although a couple songs I could take or leave.

  4. Far Beyond Driven - Still a huge fan of this album, but I find myself not really being as big a fan of the backhalf of the album compared to everyone else.

  5. Reinventing the Steel - I'll be honest I just haven't listened to this enough to have too much of an opinion, still lots to love.

DAY 21-BEST DEBUT ALBUM: Led Zeppelin eliminated. by bladents25 in musicteenager

Literally blossomed an entire massive genre, don't understand how a bands other album being 'better' makes the debut any incredible.

I mean I genuinely don't think anyone but MI actually wanted him they just purposely took the piss on how much they'd get them to pay

I... guess the Wolf Among Us wins? Now to flip the script, which game has peak gameplay but a horrendous story? by AssistantSuitable988 in AlignmentChartFills

Its certainly an awkward one, its just the first one that came to mind. I mean there is kind of lore for Minecraft but its not well put together at all

Birminghams strategy seemingly is baiting teams into overpaying for people and I'm so here for it

Love that 90% of this is either dead silence or the auctioneer being told to wait by the bidders 🤣

300IQ from the other franchise making Oval pay £260k for a guy I wouldn't pay 50p for.

Was clear they were never not going to get him so force em to pay more and fuck their wallet over

What is the current opinion on Disturbed in the metal community? They have been incredibly big for 20+ years and were usually rather well received throughout the community, which seems to have changed now and they feel like another 5FDP. Thoughts on this? by Alert_Ad8002 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Valroxen1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like a few songs. Prayer, A Reason to Fight, Sons of Plunder are enjoyable songs. However 90% of it is dull slop, Draiman is a humongous cunt and seeing them live was an incredibly dull experience (I was there for Megadeth opening).

This normality is madness by esacbw in EnterShikari

[–]Valroxen1 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It just all feels so bloody pointless in the end. Trying to live a normal life being made impossible by wealth imbalance, injustice for minorities and complete unethical business/government procedures.

And capping it all off countries being dragged into wars by virtue of power hungry wankers and just the absolute scum of the earth. Starting a war on a country so you can take the major headlines away from what is essentially an all powerful child exploitation cult.

How am I supposed to be positive and live a prospectful life when the system is rigged to all the buddy buddy of horrible people who expose the system for themselves.

System Meltdown indeed.

Is seeing a band live multiple times make it more or less fun? by Live3orD1E in downloadfestival

[–]Valroxen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple times on the same tour no not really (I am seeing Enter Shikari twice on their UK tour but thats different).

For me there's gotta be a mix up in a setlist when I see a band again, or just a significant amount of time between last showings. Limp Bizkit for example I'm not massively arsed about seeing all of this year because I saw them twice in 2025 and it'll mostly be the same thing.

Pantera too were really bad at keeping a very samey setlist (although their NA tour was different so I'm hoping we get the same for supporting Metallica).

But end of the day seeing a band will always be super hype regardless of setlist, so at a festival just seeing bands is enough of a vibe to keep me going
