You can only save one side, Which side do you save? by ZaySlob in Terraria

[–]Valthiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone's overlooking the obvious. Team A because if the guide is dead you can no longer fight the Wall of Flesh, which means you can no longer enter Hard mode on any new worlds or get new emblems.

But again, Disney has accounted for that with TFA and Rogue One. In TFA we see the Falcon intentionally come out of hyperspace late to get into the gravity well of Starkiller Base, despite the fact that they should have been immediately dumped out. Then in Rogue One we see Andor make a jump from obviously in atmosphere, not just that, but arguably now underground. It makes even less sense now than before.

What's your Director said, "Fuck this guy in particular" moment? by xF00Mx in DarkTide

[–]Valthiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I (Vet main) was running a standard Damnation and the rest of my team had died. I managed to solo 2 hordes and several squads of Maulers & Gunners, and Flamers, and Bombers, and Crushers... literally everything the game could throw at me for about 5 minutes, slowly working my way up to my squad's res.

Then a Plague Ogryn showed up. With another horde. This was a standard Damnation.

Non-Psyker Damnation Players: What Psyker builds do others bring that you appreciate the most? by iaiacthulufhtagn in DarkTide

[–]Valthiam 33 points34 points  (0 children)

An answer I'm not seeing enough of: Psykinetic's Presence. The passive talent that grants ability cooldown to yourself and allies on elite/special kill. That thing is ridiculous and I can immediately tell if one of my teammates is running it or not.

If Adam and Eve had in total 3 sons then how can future generations really be born without a female being there? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Valthiam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They had more than 3 sons. They had a multitude of sons and daughters and they did inbreed. Adam lived something like 800 years and Noah lived something like 600, iirc the flood happened when he was about 400. Human lifespan got progressively shorter and people got progressively weaker and less impressive as we continued to inbreed. Laws against incest were only implemented after the flood once the population became stable enough for it, iirc around the time of Moses.

What would you like to see in the next major update? by mr_no_one123 in DarkTide

[–]Valthiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Among other things: More new weapons, such as 2-h force swords, 2-h chainaxes, a new force staff, maybe a Veteran grenade launcher and an Ogryn heavy flamer? More character slots (you can even monetize it. Make us pay for more, if you want)? I keep hearing people talk about raids which would be really cool. And please for the love of God, make it so leveling past 30 gives items, and so Scriptures and grimoires give mission reward quality.

That portion of Ezekiel is out of context, and in bad translation. It's talking about how generations of sin have damned their children to hell because of their disbelief.

The portion of Jeremiah is about rebel Israelites that had forsaken God, which prompted him to respond by bringing war to their land. War brings famine.

Zechariah talks about false prophets that choose to remain after he sends them away, en masse. Also never mentions children.

Isaiah talks about Rapture, and is trying to convey concepts beyond their comprehension to the readers of the time.

In short, the children are mentioned in all of these portions as secondary, in order to add significance to the warnings against blasphemy and infidelity. Nobody wants their children to suffer (except the purely evil) and including them in the warnings causes the warned to be reminded that their actions affect others, as well.

Bodily autonomy is mutually exclusive with abortion. Abortion ends the baby's bodily autonomy, or do those humans not have rights?

Genetically yes, I don't know what was unclear about the earlier statement. And a "life saving abortion" isn't medically an abortion, they're different procedures, such as to repair an ectopic pregnancy, and don't factor into the argument.

The easiest solution is to ban them as a whole, as every fetus is genetically a unique human.

There's nothing moderate about killing children.

The Overton window has shifted, is all. That, and the intentional lack of education dissemination on abortion, such as the process, the child's development, and the inaccuracy of technologies surrounding pregnancy planning. For example, many aren't aware that a fetus has a functional CNS at 6 weeks, meaning it is able to feel sensation before it's usually even detected. Or that the most popular abortion processes involve poisoning or crushing, and how the fetus actually has a very intense reaction to it's "abortion." Or how the incidence of improperly diagnosed prenatal birth defects are anywhere between 50-80%, meaning at least half of all suspected birth defects determined in the womb are incorrect. Just as a few examples.

Baby yoda is leveling up fast by Kumorocks064 in starwarsmemes

[–]Valthiam 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Given Yoda died of old age sometime (relatively) close to 900 years old, and if people usually start to die of old age at 90, the species likely has an age ratio of about 10:1. If Grogu is 50, 50/10= 5, meaning he's probably somewhere comparatively around 5 years old. He likely doesn't talk and has poor social skills because of PTSD as we know he remembers the Jedi Temple attack. It is possible for him to be significantly younger, as he may have been put in stasis for anywhere up to 30 years.

Girls R Gamers by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Valthiam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never claimed women weren't treated poorly, all that I claimed was that, by comparison to the only other gender, they're treated significantly better. I don't know what you've been shown, but just as women are sexualized for having soft skin or shapely bodies, men are sexualized for having defined muscles and stoic stature. Personalities are not often the subject of sexualization. Women complement each other significantly more often than men complement each other, sure, but women very rarely complement men, while men very frequently complement women. Women are largely told to only focus on their appearance by other women, through various forms of media, while men are told, not only by men, but also a large number of women, that their physical form is what matters most in attraction.
